If I was to get one it would be an original. They still come up from time to time. Although, I'd still rather shoot .455 out my vintage S&W Hand Ejector.

Interesting but I'm really not enthused enough to pick up another exotic cartridge to reload and cast for, though I can appreciate that folks want authenticity. If they offered it in both .455 and something more mainstream at the same time, that would entice more ppl I expect
I'm of the opinion; Lets bring it out in a mainstream caliber, 44 Russian someone had said. 455 Webley is bit of a PITA. And I've two already. Being able to buy cast or jacketed off the shelf bullets would sure be nice.
And NAA is correct, S & W 2nd or triple is pretty cool. They are very well put together guns.
But I've only handled Webleys in passing, so a fair opinion can't be put forth from me.

If they can't spell (or at least proof-read) their home page, something isn't right. No contact information (aside from the online form to join.) No mention of the expected final price.

OK, OK, I'm reading too much into this with my tinfoil hat on. Just thought I'd do a little digging.
The sad thing is, if it is legit, they won't be available in Britain. How ironic.
And I can't see Webley tooling up a production line in Britain. If it goes through and the guns are produced in the U.S. exporting them could get complicated. Hopefully they'll be made elsewhere but in any case, much as I would like one, I'm not handing over a US$100 deposit without a lot more information about final price and delivery unless I get a convincing guarantee that the deposit will be returned if production doesn't happen or if import to Canada gets blocked for any reason at all regardless of whose fault that might be.
You're welcome. The more info the better. I'm half thinking of joining up for $100 just to help get the ball rolling, although I'm not sure I actually want another Webley as my original is OK. It's so rare than the original manufacturer tries to do this.

Seems like a long shot really....if they are semi-serious, the $1000.00 cost is probably about right. (S&W 686's are over 1K with taxes.)
Forget 38S&W & .455, chamber the big frame in 44 Special & 45 Colt! Cowboy action shooters might get on board. My large frame W&S MKIV is in .455, but is a prohib because of the 4" barrel. However, this gun has a purpose built Parker-Hale 22LR conversion kit. Now that's freakin rare!

The problem here is that they are basically recreating an historical pistol to appeal to a certain segment of the shooting public. (I doubt cowboy action shooters would be interested in a Webley anyway.) They already have the original drawings for the .455, but to start producing the gun in alternate chamberings would involve considerable revisions (= COST) given that neither the .44 Spec. nor .45 Colt would fit in the existing cylinder size. I can't speak for Webley, of course, but I seriously doubt that anything other than .455 will happen. IF it really took off (!) I could see maybe resurrecting the drawings for .38 S&W as that was also an original chambering.
