I saw only one thread with some Ontario gunsmith recommendations and it's a bit outdated (for instance the mysterious North Shore Barrels looks vanished, the website is "oops!").

Therefore, what could you recommend as quality gunsmiths in Ontario to build/modify/repair custom F-Class and Precision rifles? :sniper:

I'll start:

"Chou Brothers Precision" in Aurora, ON

"MilCun" in Minden, ON

x2 on Keith at MilCun Marksmanship Complex. He has built and regulated F-Class and Sniper rifles for years. World class!

I've heard simply amazing stuff about Chou Bros and I will be calling on them for my next build. Casey at Tac Ord has made me a rifle and it was very nice indeed so I'd also be pleased to recommend him.

No no don’ tell people (these are not the droids (gunsmith) you are looking for.

If you want meticulous attention to detail
Metal work which is best in class
Extremely knowledgeable on performance capabilities of numerous calibers and cartridges

1) Then the Chou brothers are the guys you want working on your next build.

They will build your rifle with your parts or you could speak to them first and they can work with you on what they would suggest for actions, barrels, stocks and other components

And with everyone pumping their tires like this it may impact their wait times. :d

2) I haven’t had metal work done by this guy but VX systems is a world class stock fitter (Ian Roberston) you may want to check him out.

Just received mine from the Chou Bros. Not only are they great gunsmiths they are good guys. They actually gave me updates! Preliminary load development gave a best 5 round group of .340. None of the loads shot over .6 and there was a 5 gr charge difference.
I agree with Trevor60 and am torn about it. They are the best but I don't want their wait times getting too long.

Yes wait times are at 13 weeks. They are putting together a wicked rifle for me can't wait to shoot it

I ordered a defiance deviant action 300 win mag . Stock is a Manners T4A with mini chassis with 9/16 pillars and flush cups and Atlas pic rail. Bartlien Barrel Heavy Palma and a Timney Calvin elite. The only question remains is what optic?

The Chou's are building some of the best guns in the country. You will not be disappointed with the work and communication they will give you.
The best way to get in touch is through email. You can ask them to give you a call.

Chou brothers for sure! Their workmanship, attention to detail and perfection is second to none! They have an incredible amount of knowledge and they are not afraid to share it with you. Great guys to deal with and they keep you in the loop with what's going on. Go and have a look at any precision rifle or f class match and see what their equipment is doing, the results speak for themselves. I've had one build done by them that is an absolute laser beam for accuracy and fit and finish and another one currently in the works, I cant wait to get my hands on it. Like any great gunsmiths out there, you will need to wait but it WILL be worth it! Just plan ahead.
