Hi All,

I have gone through the posts and haven't found anything recent regarding getting a set of BRNO match sights.

Has anyone here dealt with Denny lately?

Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking to get my CZ 453 into postal or bullseye shooting to try it out and figure that a nice set of receiver sights may be the way to go. I plan on benchresting at 30m indoor 50, 100, 150 outdoor. My 453 is already a decent shooter, but the tangent sights are not match quality, they are more about hitting a 4 inch circle at 100m, I am thinking of sub MOA setup.

I played around with putting a scope on it, but cant find the right combination of bolt clearance and objective length to clear the rear sight and still retain the appropriate eye relief due to the hogback stock style.

I checked out the Williams offerings and I am not sure its what I really want..

Has anyone out there done this?

Thanks
C

I've only used the stock iron sights for hunting. I'm assuming that you're talking about a 453 lux?? I've only used the iron sights on mine. I mounted a scope temporarily, and took it off before shooting a shot out of the gun due to the problems you've mentioned. If you want a scope, I think that a boyds stock would be necessary.

Who is Denny??

Head over to rimfirecentral, someone there will know.
I have several of the Brno match sites from Denny for my Brnos but those have 16mm rails. Not sure if you need an adapter for the 11mm rail plus I assume you will want the front globe.
I ordered stuff from Denny last month and never have any trouble getting in touch with him but apparently he travels a lot and some people seem to have trouble contacting him.
For those who don't know, Denny is the go to guy for all things Brno. You won't deal with anyone better.
He is in California and can be reached at ajakubec@aol.com

^^ Awesome. Thanks for that. That is the email I tried contacting him at, just haven't gotten a reply yet.

You are correct, I want the whole setup front globe and all.

I am a member at RFC and have looked at a lot of info over there, I just seem to spend more time here now!

Cheers,

I can second what Deadeyedave said. Denny is the awesomest person to deal with. He is a wealth of knowledge on all things CZ and BRNO.
Be patient and you will get exactly what you need for your application.

Any luck ordering from Denny? I have been trying to order the same sights for a while now for my 455. Also would be curious what size inserts you will be ordering? I'm new to peep sights and really have no idea what is a good size to get. I was planning to just order 4 different sizes then hope one size works, since there's over 8 sizes I think.

Well, as anticipated Denny was awesome and the ordering part went perfectly.

I am hoping the sights will arrive any day now and I will post some pics of them mounted up and what they can do (or more aptly, what I can do..)

Quick update.

I received the sights yesterday. Took some time and put them on my rifle. So far so good. Nice kit, good front globe adaptors. I wish the rear portion had a clamping dovetail instead of the screw down style, as I don't really want to mar the top of my scope base, but I guess that's what its for..

The globe inserts that come with it are lexan discs. Not bad, but I think I will get some of the Anschutz metal ones.

I will take them to the range today and work on sighting it in.

In a strange twist, I was sent two sets of these sights. I am talking with Denny on what to do with them, I may try to sell them up here and then just send him the money. That would be easier on everyone involved I think. I have a couple friends with CZs, but they may be offered here as well.

Pics soon.

I prefer the clear sights and I think you will to if you try the metal ones.

Just a little secret to screw down, put a piece of 7-1/2,8 or 9 shot, smaller the better in the hole where the screw goes first, this will save from marking the metal as the lead is softer.

Hope this helps.

Well, I took it to the range last night.

I am impressed. Our indoor is only 30m, and the actual distance is more like 28.5, but once I had it at least hitting the paper, there were some great groups. I shot probably 500 rds in 5 shot groups and there were only a handful that were not touching. There were a few that looked like only 3 had passed through, so that's pretty awesome.

It is looking good for my goal of iron sights at 50m, less than .5" groups.

I can only see this going one way though, different globe inserts, different apertures, up and up and up :).

Soon as I hear back from Denny, I will have a Klinsky stock in the mail, just to round out the package :).

Still no pics.. Soon.
