So I have a type 56 Bandolier on the way here from china($10 shipped off ebay), but was wondering if there is a better way to take 200-300 rounds with you to the bush to shoot? I mean I guess the ammo crates are small enough could just take the whole crate I have a large SUV but I don't see myself putting 1200 rounds downrange in one session :) I was hoping you guys had some other ideas.

I have a small tupperware style box that I take with me, it will hold up to about 150 rounds, but i just take whatever I feel I will use for the day.

Get two or three friends with you, ya can blast away a crate in 2 hours or so pretty easily.

I did that up on Vancouver Island on a vacation, had to come back down Island to get more crates hehe.

As a matter of fact, the fat 50 cal ammo cans are on sale at Princess Auto for $24.99, the ones at my local store appeared to be new production, or at least the one I bought the other day appears that way.

I keep my ammo in my trunk. My shooting spot is maybe 20 feet from my car.

Mine usually isn't either but really who doesn't want to carry a few hundred rounds with them and run around in the woods, I mean afterall..

I have a shooting vest with two large molle pouches on the front. It holds a boat load of stripper clips for when I'm away from the truck at the range.

When I'm done shooting that caliber, I fill the pouches with x54 or shotshells and continue.

Vietnam era SKS chest rigs. "bandolier"

This.

They're so cheap, I bought a couple of them off evilBay for about $10 apiece... Lever Arms has them for $15 + shipping. Easy to grab them and throw them in the back of the car. Work best if the ammo is pre-loaded on stripper clips.

That looks exactly like the one I ordered. Good to know I
Was on the right track.

I've been thinking how great it'll be to ride a motorcycle with the bandolier pictured above strapped on top of my leathers with an sks slung over my back, lol. Should get some looks on the highway.
