vote for the best lever action .22 and why

I own all that's been mentioned and if I had to choose one, it would be Henry.
The action is most enjoyable out of them all.
Great all around.
If it gets damaged while in the woods or camping, you will always be able to afford a replacement.

If possible, try a few different models out for fitment . If you're a taller ,longer armed type like myself , you'll probably like the 39a . I realize it may be hard to find a Winchester or a Marlin to try out , but you may get lucky . I've owned them all except for the Browning [ my hunting bud has one , too small for me ] . I prefer the Marlin [older the better] . Winchester was OK although both my Marlins were way more accurate . Henry just felt cheap but worked OK [ got rid of mine after about a week] . Hope this helps . Good luck in your search .

Uberti silver boy (wolverine has them, $615)

Why? It's a nice looking alternative.

Why not? Some might not like the silver finish, no worse than a golden boy for tackiness.

Edit: I have a 1991 94-22 that's pretty minty, but those are tough to find. Can't really go wrong with a Henry either, not a fan the the browning.

9422 , 39's are the top of the pile.
The browning has a different stroke and feels small. Not a big deal for small people and great for kids. With large hands the lever can be worked without removing your thumb from the wrist of the stock....just need to open your fingers and then close them.
The trigger's can be a bit in the heavier side and the gun in general is less friendly to work on if you need to get right it into it. Fortunately it's rare to need to get them right apart as they are easy to maintain.
The Henry's are good value, work just fine and have a reputation of good customer support even up north should it be required.
I'd get the frontier with the hexagon barrel or the little mare's leg.
The frontier has nicer sights and a bit more weight.
The mares leg is more for a light compact repeater for grouse along the way.

You are right If you want Bling nothing wrong with the Uberti, The Henry's are a great rifle. I have a Win 94/22 In 22 mag
Love it. Will never sell it The Norincos made some Levers and they where not that bad, I think they were a copy of the Marlin The old Ithicas were great levers to Hell if you want to have fun Pick up a Win Or Rossi model 62 pump Slam fire and have fun. I have a old Rossi it's a blast to shoot

I've had Winchesters (9422, 9422M, 250 etc), Brownings, an Erma and Ithacas. I see that Henry has utilized the Erma design. This is the only rifle I have seen that had the receiver crack under the steel cover and develop excessive headspace, rendering the rifle useless.
I currently own a Winchester (9422) and two BL22's.
If you're going to buy one, go for quality over price. In the long run, you'll be glad you did.

Henry rifles are always my lever 22 choice, best bang for your buck and you don't have to worry so much about a few scratches here and there. A rifle you will actually use.

I own a Henry Frontier. Love it, it's a great shooter but I find it on the heavy side for a 22. I'm on the fence about parting with it and getting something else because of the weight.

9422, and the Marlin 39.
I dislike the BL22s, having had to work on ones that customers brought in for repair.
The Erma/Ithaca was an economy rifle with a diecast zinc alloy receiver with a steel shell. Apparently the Henry is the current version.

Henry H001... Pretty, accurate, reliable, light.
What more could I want for plinking tin cans and shooting the odd pest or grouse.
I love it.

Brother has a browning... Also very nice, well made... I don't care for the trigger assembly attached to the lever, but other than that it's also great.

I'm kinda leaning toward the bl-22 grade 11 octagon version, something I can leave my son and the stock fits me best .......henry vs browning .........the choice seems to be .........a decent practical gun for everyday use [reasonably priced] henry vs a high quality and classy gun [expensive]browning.......I found a nice Winchester 9422 m [ very smooth action ] for the same price as a new browning grade 11 octagon wow $$$$$.......thanks for the advice guys
