I have this compact AA flashlight and use it daily. Best compact light I've owned and it's reasonably priced around $30.

I don't want or need that many lumens, for my purposes. I do janitorial work and if I shine a 1000 lumen flashlight into a room, I just get blinding glare back. Anything over 300 lumens is useless to me. I can attest that the E12 is awesome @ 130 lumens, if there is a replacement to the E12 with a little more lumens I will consider buying it.

I bought one of these and I love it.

I don't like recharging. Some people say rechargeable is better, but the company I work for always has AA batteries around (and I always have some at home). It is a lot simpler for me to swap out a rechargeable AA battery of my liking, or just use any AA battery. I have had a Duracell last months of regular use in it on mostly low setting. Also, you know when the battery is dying because the higher settings will not come on eventually, so it is time to change it. I might go higher max Lumins in a flashlight if it was the exact same size and did not drain the battery faster.

The three light settings is awesome. The low power that comes on first is great at night when the eyes are already adjusted to the darkness: less chance of suddenly blinding myself. Also, the bright setting can be cycled to very quickly with very little practice. It is bright enough that at night it can blind someone temporarily at a few feet away.

Lastly, the size is just right to go anywhere in the pocket, in kit, etc and fits into a hand like a roll of pennies.

The only downside is on high setting over time it does get warm and the land yard was sliced through by the case within a month.
