My absolute favorite gun....Philadelphia built AE grade 12 gauge circa 1911.

Passed on to my grandfather in 1931, and to me in 2007. And then to my son eventually. Currently looking for more Fox brothers/sisters to this gun. ;)

Jason, that is one fine looking Fox. We should have traded a little more info on Foxes when we were trading emails earlier this month.

I too have my great grandfather's Fox, A grade. Gun is from 1909. Passed down to my grandfather, father and then to me on my birthday in 2007. I have a picture somewhere of my grandfather with the gun circa 1945 in Manitoba with a mixed bag of game, including a turkey. It next took a turkey in Manitoba in 2009.

For me, it's the gun that started my obsession with SxS. I've had it fully restored and while I may have a few worth more money, none are more valuable. Glad to see yours gets out to the fields as well!

That's a blemish in the photo, not the gun. The gun is perfect.

I'll post more pics later.

You are both fortunate gentlemen. Fine old doubles with the priceless provenance of personal heritage.

Ninepointer, my brother has my father's other grandfather's Winchester M94 saddle ring carbine in Win .32 that he bought new in 1904. We are both extremely fortunate, as is Jason. I'm really hoping they all get passed down for another 100 years.

Jason, mine has full chokes, 2 5/8" chambers in 30" Krupp barrels. Can't get to the weight right now. What are the specs of your gun??

Very nice. I have my Gandfather's A Grade, passed through my father to me. It is bound for my son eventually.

If you are not aware, there is a Fox Collector's forum with a couple of fellows who have pretty full records of the factory order cards with specs and sales details.

Those are some very nice guns, special too. I have a Sterlingworth that's close to 100 years old, but unfortunately it doesn't have any family history, at least not yet. I bought it at a gun show a few years back. It's nothing fancy, but still locks up like a vault and shoots great.

Just planning to get all four of my Foxes lettered by Mr Callahan.
