For the op rod guide, is the regular red locktite or high temp red better? How about the crappy tire brand, permex red?

Permatex is good. Same as Loctite. That company split 5 years ago. Both brands are the same product.

I would use the blue stuff first, that should be strong enough. When you use the red stuff you need heat to remove it, and risk stripping fine threads on some screws.
