Guys, during the cheap AR period, I bought a Colt and a DD. Sold the DD kept the Colt as I preferred it. So I did well.

However, now with the dollar and the AR surplus gone from what I can see are there any Bushmaster/DPMS/other deals left? A buddy didn't buy cause he thought he'd wait til summer as he didn't need one til then but now he's seemingly pooched?

So what's left? Point out the stores or deals if you know em.

That's true eh? Not too long ago, it seems like there were AR's everywhere. Local range had a sweet ddm4v7 for $1200.00 Can't believe I didn't jump on it at the time. Seeing the endless stream of awesome AR deals, actually made me hold off pulling the trigger. What a dum dum. Regretting it now.

Recently read a review of the Ruger AR556 which has not yet made the Canadian market. It is retailing in the US for less than it would cost to build a gun from scratch. Look for them to used as the basis for a custom build. Too bad our dollar is so low right now.

^^ try Canada ammo on the sr556

Yep, the SR556, not the AR556. The former is piston operated, the latter direct impingement. They offer a screamin' deal on the DA right now - mags, 500 rds ammo, ammo can, knife.
One stop shopping for wanna-be Jihadis on the way to join ISIS.

The 2015 selling season is just about to start, most major gunshops are just starting to get there bookings for this year. So I'd buy what's in stock ,as it will be old stock
By summer you will see a large jump.

You know, something else they don't teach you in school: wife management! That is a full-time job right there.

Of all the "anti" arguments and talking points, I think the one I hate the most is: "you don't need it" and "Why do you need that" and I just realized why this one hits such a nerve....because at home is where I hear it the most!! ;)

Funny enough, that this is one time where, I DO actually need it (lots of guns in the house). My kids need to grow up around guns, they need to see, use and experience guns as they really are (awesome) and not how the idiot box would have them believe.

There, I think I just talked myself into a couple AR's before the new year kicks off. Technically, that's responsible budgeting, right there :)

I am very fortunate that my wife is into the sport so we don't have these discussions at all.

She enjoys shooting a variety of firearms as much as if not more than I do.

We've also turned it into a bit of an accessory shopping experience which she loves. Gotta accessorize.

Oh and often time though I showed her how she shoots better than me.

I know it kinda hurts to pay big bucks for a rifle when the price jumps/dollar drops, but seriously guys....

Consider the cost of the ammo you'll be shooting...that's where the real expense lies. The gun will last decades, if not a lifetime unless you beat the crap out of it. Ammo...you can use up a case in a season even with moderate [but regular] shooting.

Yes what Simon says is very accurate...buy now pay less or wait until new inventory replaces old and the prices will be noticeably higher. Phil.

Marstar still shows stock on Norinco/Polytech cq-a AR for 529.95
Think thats the cheapest for an AR in Canada.

$499.99 20"
Marstar is the cheapest M4gery, I fired mine yesterday for the first time. In the EE, people want more than the brand new cost :).

SFRC has some great prices on the Wyndham weaponry. Great guns I have one and I paid close to 1400 for it and now it's down to 950ish

I just picked one up as well (SRC) from Kelly's Sporting Goods. They have them marked down to 750! Very happy with mine, and much nicer than the Oracles IMO for roughly the same price, with more desirable features. Can't go wrong if you ask me
