Reproduction Ross Rifle Stocks, Fresh Off The Duplicator!

I`ve always wanted a Ross. I wonder if the wife will notice if I buy a sporterized one off EE (for a couple hundred) then pay FlyingPig a couple hundred for a stock? Flying Pig, can you make your (FRAUD ALERT) set up to say "Utility Bill" so she doesn't question what I just payed for? :)

I suspect a stock set will be more than $200. He said it takes him 25-30 hours to make one, plus the cost of the wood, hydro, etc.

Do the math, even at minimum wage.

I said a couple hundred... Just like I tell the wife I only have "a couple hundred rounds" left so I NEED more (down to about 7000 rounds lol)

DiMP, anything is possible! ;)

Oh no... I found a deal on EE for a Ross and decided to get it for myself for Christmas. I guess I should start saving my nickles for a replicated stock... err... I mean for the Utility Bill :)

Thanks guys. Working on future master stocks today. I have a shattered M-10 that exploded at the wrist. One side still matches up for about 1.5" so I'm repairing it from there for use as a master. I also have a 1905-R here I'm fixing a low side on the fire end on and then it'll become a master. I picked up a MkII from POPS for use as a fitting action so I'll be back in business there. If anyone knows of a shot out rough shape M-10 I could use for a fitting action that would help down the road. Also I'm still having trouble finding a steady supply of wood...

I can now do MkII 3*, 1905-R, MkIII and soon M-10 stocks. I'm planning on doing Lee-Enfield No1 MkIII and III* down the road, a Martini or two, Bren gun grips and maybe a few others. Who knows where this will go.

if some one can get me a nose cap to borrow to make a master mold from, i can cast them in Zammak or aluminium. lost wax. just throwing that out there…..again...
You just gave me an idea. 3D printing.

I'd rather have a plastic nose cap than no nose cap.

Digitally scanned and then printed out.

Not perfect but easier to do than getting them machined. (which I have yet to see happen)

And possible to do the 4 or so different designs too.

You could use it till a real one shows up...

What do you need for orders to do a run of SVT 40 stocks? That last stock you had up looks better than factory. Nice work sir you have ALOT of patience to get to that outcome

Fellow in Australia has built the dies for the front sight hoods. I'm waiting to hear from another CGNer what he thinks of them and then I'm going to see if I can get a few. He is talking about making dies for the MkII nosecap. Makes sense as it fits the broadest spectrum of Ross rifles. I believe they were used as replacements for MkIs, used on MkIIs and early MkIIIs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Larrysmith, is your rifle a full length barrel or shortened? A similar type nose cap could be used for a 'tanker' if that's what yours is, with a shorter fore end like guys have been doing a bit with Lee-Enfields.
