Fake Leupold Scopes.

I have never understood quantity over quality...

They aren't all just for me so in this case you are mistaken.
Also, I own do own highend stuff S&B PMII,Leica,Swarovski,Zeiss,vectronix...So you really are barking up the wrong tree....
Some of us simply want to try out some cheap stuff to see how it works. I can always throw it on a 22 or in the garbage. I mean, really they are less than 100 bucks each. The tax I paid on the Vectronix rangefinder alone would pay for 7 of them....

Looking forward to what actual Chinese scope owners report back. :)

I have a Tasco 6-24 X 50 sitting on a Mod 700 Varmint in .308, an NcStar 6-24 on a 300 Win Mag Mossberg 4X4, and a Fitco 4-16 on a Norc .22. The 2 scopes on centerfires have had hundreds of rounds fired, with no moving of zero. Haven't tried the box test, but I plan to later this spring. I've tried both CF rifles out to 300 yds, and they are plenty clear for shooting at targets. That being said, I have better optics on my hunting guns (Alpen, Bushnell, Nikon). My reasoning is this: I don't shoot competition, if one of the scopes craps out, I put the gun back in the case, and come back home, lesson learned. I would not use a cheap scope on a hunt, because a screw-up can result in missing a critter or even worse, wounding one, and if it were a guided hunt, even the Nikon-class scopes would not be enough. I would not gamble a once-in-a-lifetime hunt or shot on cheap optics. For the same reason, I'm OK using Winchester bullets when reloading for plinking, but when I am out hunting, I use high-end bullets, as I do when doing serious target shooting.

WELL SAID !!! What so many people on this and on the other - deleted - thread don't seem to get is that for some of us this is just a fun project. No one is even half-seriously suggesting these things are real or that they will perform on par with items costing 10-30 times as much. Nor are we 'pretending' to own the real thing but ironically we, who are prepared to play with these 'airsoft-only fakepoints' or whatever you want to call them, actually do have genuine nice expensive scopes to go on genuine nice rifles.

Like I said many times in the previous thread, I don't care if you want to put a cheap scope on your rifle. Go out and buy all the Hawke, Tasco, Wartak, UTG, etc scopes you want, I don't care. What I (and many of the others) have a problem with is the trademark infringement associated with these scopes. If the company wanted to make copies of "tactical" scopes and made their own brand name, that would be fine, but to rip off both Leupold's name and the Mark 4 trade mark is illegal, and I have a problem with anyone who is willing to support such a company by buying its product.

It takes more for me than to have a problem with someone than this, as far as I am concerned you earned your money spend it however you like, leupold has enough money to fight their own battles, no sleep lost here

Let's not ruin another perfectly informative thread. Please leave the politics out of it and just discuss the performance of these scopes. There is not enough definitive information out there about these scopes. If it breaks, great. If it doesn't break, great too. Let free willed individuals decide on what to do with their money.

Leopold will be fine, the earth will be fine, humanity will survive. I guess it is all about if you personally support cheaters and bad business practices with you money just because you want a cheap toy.

As i said, moral compass is apparently a very finicky device.

Get off your high horse already and go visit another thread.Everyone is sick of your holier than thou rants.

I wonder, though, how many people get taken in by this. If you are seriously looking at high-end Leupold optics, I think it can be safely assumed you have somewhere between at least basic and advanced knowledge about firearms. As such, you would know that you cannot get Leupold, Zeiss, NF,Trijicon, whatever, for $100. To be honest, I hadn't thought about the trademark issue before, and my cheapies are clearly identified as such - NcStar, etc. It's kinda like the booth Rolex watches - I don't think anyone seriously expects a Rolex for $10. I seriously can't see knockoffs causing a lot of loss of market for Leupold. I bought a cellphone which is clearly a copy of an HTC. Paid all of $50 for it - again, mind you, it is not labeled as HTC, but I knew exactly what I was getting - a very cheap phone that I've had for 3 years, and that has done exactly what I want since then. It was a replacement for a very expensive Samsung that I lost and still had 2 1/2 years of contract on.

Whos worse in this scenario Korth Group with their unfair business practises or a Chinese company and theirs? Both are selling Leupold,,both are criminal in my mind.

Cheers!!

Hey don't mean to say anything uncomfortable here but everyone needs to keep the personal attacks and opinions on what people decide to buy out of this thread and focus on the product discussed or this thread will get deleted as personal attacks do not help this Forum in anyway whatsover.

This thread isn't informative at all.

No one has stepped up and posted test results of these scopes.

Agreed, but your name isn't in blue nor are you the OP, so you really have no say in that whatsoever. Secondly, I'm not so sure the discussion of where to buy or reviews of counterfeit products is something to be condoned, so that'll be the reason it gets deleted, and not locked, like the other thread. My $.02 anyhow, worth nothing as well. :)

Me too hope to get out this weekend with my .223 and as well vise it and do some tracking tests, just need to get time away from the family which is difficult with Spring here now...

Tell me about it. I am a bit lucky that my wife wants to tag along and watch. So i might hand her the pocket camera and record a video or something. I should add as well, i have had the scope for almost a month now and the rifle for 2 months. My range is a 2 hour drive one way and i haven't been there since january. Believe me, i am itching to go. So have some patience people.

Not biting.

I'm not looking for an argument with you, I'm just hoping these threads get deleted.
I have a friend that got burned on a fake Canada Goose parka, he's out almost $1000, and an Uncle who got taken for a few thousand on a fake watch. I have little use for people who sell counterfeit products as the real thing and while I'm in no way saying you would, the less publicity they get, the better.
