DA50 .50BMG upper!!!???

What is the meaning of this!!! We need ball park pricing! Spec! Accuracy expectencies! Or my head might explode!!!

I would be more interested in something along the lines of .416 Barrett with a dominion arms price tag. It's usually the largest cartridge allowed at most clubs I have been at. This is still pretty cool, though not the first time it's been done but might be the first time we Canucks can get our hands on it. Kudos canadaammo!

Why not just make a whole gun... Seems dumb to put this on a restricted lower.... Why not just make it just accept ar stocks and grips...

Also, I imagine that it would damage ar parts over time.

I agree with this. I can't use this at my range. It would be awesome as a stand-alone 1-shot 50BMG though... Also how heavy is this upper? 'cause most 50BMGs are not light guns and an AR lower doesn't weigh much... But I guess this is only feasible if you can make one for cheaper than everyone else

I think price point is the main benefit.

You can make/sell this upper for less than you can make/sell a complete gun for.

Most of their customers already have an AR-15.
Many people only shoot at a range anyways, so non-restricted doesn't really amount to much benefit for them.

If it was cheap I would be interested... But it would have to be seriously cheap to make it worth my while. Even if I did go to a range that allowed it none of the ranges here are anywhere near the sorta range one wants to be playing with a 50bmg at so it would really be a novelty item. (because any 50 isn't?)

I was interested while I thought it would be made by norinco, but knowing it will be made in canada is even more interesting.

If only they could make it as a complete NR rifle for a reasonable price, I'd be all over it, but I would still be interested by an ar15 upper if the price is good (and if it does not damage my lower).

Everyone wants a .50BMG, even if it's just for the bragging rights!!!

I want! but if im going to spend the money I would want to be able to use it anywhere, being it goes on an AR lower I will have an issue with buying it just do to the fact I can only use it at a range.

For the people who complain about it being restricted;
Do you live on a farm where you can safely shoot 50-BMG in the backyard?

I'm curious as to where people would like to shoot this caliber rifle, outside of a designated range.

I shoot my PGW 50 out to a kilometre safely with a mountain as a back stop. Plenty of places like that here in BC.

Crown land.

If it wasn't restricted.

My range shoots out to 500m.

But won't let me shoot 50bmg. But 416B would go.

My local range is 300m. I know lots of places in the bush that is far over that (where I could safetly shoot, but that should be taken).

As much as I want to believe this is an April fools thing, ATRS does have a non-restricted AR lower with no mag well and something weird pin/block thing that they made several years ago because Rick had a Ferrett or Safety Harbor upper and they were advertising these non-restricted lowers that worked with modified ferret/safety harbor uppers so this isn't too far out of the scope of reality

6 years in the making apparently;

*scouring the deep internet for pictures of this thing because it was on his old site, back when savage ACIS chassis were a thing, but thats for another time*

** just kidding, quick look on the frt shows that the ATSHL prototype is restricted frt#129495

Yes I have tons of land. I would shoot it in the same manner I shoot .308. Safely and responsibly. But only if its Non-Restricted...
