RCMP 2015 New Black Rifle NR Expectations

They have a year to change it, after a year they cannot, therefore the tavor is safe from reclassification but not from an oic.

This is only if C-42 passes. That provision is in the Bill

Ok thx....so in reality,no gun is safe from an OIC?

Correct, however (and I'm no lawyer), I suspect that if suddenly an OIC was issued banning ARs after all these decades, there would be court challenges that may set precedents that would benefit us.

By's, I'm a Newfoundlander (Our accent differs, in some cases greatly, from what most of you would consider English haha) half cut in Edmonton, and I can see what the fella is asking. Rather than shred the post apart on grammar or broken English, try and help a fella out.

OP, keep an eye to the forums and you'll see what the latest and greatest is in terms of new releases, both restricted and non-restricted.

I've seen rumors of a single shot 50 BMG on here possibly with a non-restricted status, that'd certainly be something to watch for!

my Steyr 50 isn't restricted at all...
the thought police took my SSD 38 over a year ago which was one of the few, approx 30, in the country. It was factory built semi, classified and bought as a restricted when new many years ago. None of that stopped them from reclassifing it as Prohib. And sending a greeting card. After much adue found there was really nothing one could do without a public outcry, and was just way too outnumbered by the establishment to bother risking the rest of the collection.

As much as I'd like to see my 4 AR's become non restricted Mike nailed it. I think the NFA are wasting their time on this one. I think they'd be much better off fighting for us to be able to use our restricted rifles and pistols anywhere it's legal and safe to use a non restricted. Keep them registered and let them keep their classifications but let us use them just like any other firearm.

I have hearing loss from both work & shooting, I would love to see the NFA work to make suppressors legal for shooting & hunting based on noise complaints from shooter & hearing loss, use the US platform style as a tax stamp of around $400 for 5 year permit & must have restricted status. Also if used in a major crime like murder, assault causing harm & robbery should be punished by 4 years non-plea bargainable. So the crown can't bargain the crime away for a conviction.

But then again our court system is flawed & the RCMP would never really understand this concept or let this happen. It's going to cost the government more to treat my hearing loss then it would to prevent it.. & No I don't use hearing protection when I hunt, I use a game getter hearing aid. :p

AND OH YAH!

I read it somewhere I think it was the UK was ok with suppressors for .22lr for this reason both hearing loss & noise.
