The aacca gun show is in Calgary this weekend. As I am mostly interested in milsurps I thought I would ask this here. Is this the show I shouldn't miss in alberta/sw sask/ se b.c. It would be a three hour drive one way, and I am just wondering if there is a better show in the area later in the year. I went to the hanna show last year and thought it was pretty good, but it was my first gun show. any advice appreciated, as I could go tomorrow or Saturday, but I could also go to the range:) Thanks;erkel

Dude any gun show that you go to can be good or disappointing. That all depends on what you are expecting, if you go looking to find that something special and don't ,or you do and its way over priced. For sure you won't be happy. But if you go to have a good time ,see what's there is to be seen, you will surely find something of interest. Me personally I have flown from QUEBEC for this show because I enjoy gun shows, I never know what I am going to see. From beat up old bubba's gun to 30.00$$ doubles, then there are the accessories and everything else attached to the gun culture. I my self am a big ammo collector, have always found some that I don't have. So ya I am a gun nut!!:canadaFlag:

This is THE quintessential "Don't Miss" Gun show. Rumors are that they have 1000 tables this year. The lineup to get in starts very early on the Friday and is usually quite long by the time the show opens. Either get there really early, or wait until about 10:30-11:00 to arrive so you don't get caught in the "Endless" lineup.

As for Milsurps, it is one of the best shows going. Usually a great variety of firearms, and lots of parts and accessories available as well.

Definitely a must go if you are able.

As an added Bonus attraction, you'll even see things for sale that never sell because they are so overpriced that the sellers have been dragging the very same item to the show for the last 25 years!

In other words, you will see the same stuff year after year!

That the best part lol, I've offered the same guy for the last three years on a fn Belgian Mauser a fair offer and he never moves but it's always there the following year at the stampede & thorncliffe shows

Some of these guys just drag these things to the shows so they can tell the wife "But hon, I'm trying to sell it" with a straight face.

It was an awesome show this year. I only saw about half of it before I was broke, and had to call it a day because eyeballing all the stuff I couldn't afford to add to the collection this year was starting to depress me.
