Fake Leupold Scopes.

If I has a gun / scope combo that shot groups like that I'd be swapping out the scope to a proven scope to see whats going on.

Test another scope so we can see if its the gun or the shooter.

Also any box tests or tracking tests would be useless with groups that are that size.

Not looking at another scope for at least another year, or whenever this current one falls apart. Handguns are more important to me right now.

True but I am more curious to see if it fails.

Lots of variables for sure.

My .223 Hog Hunter has a 1 in 9 twist found ammo made a HUGE difference granted this is only 50m but the range is only 5 mins from me and it has been cold out but here is an example of my Savage and M3 knockoff short distance groups. I am sure this would still relate in some ways to 100, 300m groups.

My rifle liked 40 and 75 grain match ammo best.

The scope only is 10 power try as I could never got everything thru a single hole my eyes are not the best even only at 50 yards. :(

Now my kids M1 clone is 14 power that made a big difference for spotting it did 1 hole using Eley match .22 ammo.

Hope to do some 100 to 500 yard shooting shortly on private land as the weather is getting much better.

Using M3 scope 3.5-10x50:

Using M1 scope 4.5-14x40 scope

I like the random things you put in for scale but we have no idea what size they are. Is that a 4-40 screw??

Anyways, it looks like both you guys are just starting to test these scopes. It will be interesting to see how they work.

Yeah sorry the target squares are great but I like putting different items in the pics to help a shooting imagine shooting the object. Yes the allen is from a scope ring imagine even at 50m shooting a varmint in the eye 5 out of 5 times. I am almost feeling like seeing if I can wreck the scope on my 12 gauge slug gun but I hate wasting 80.00 especially when I like it, funny I don't think that way when out for wings and beer......

So did your testing and first hand experience with the scope in hand help you deem it a crap scope? Just saying one needs to be objective until drawing conclusions especially if you cannot compare them to others.

I prefer to do my research but have to say I sure liked the Leupolds I was handling last night at the gun store but man have no idea how I would get 1500.00 past my wife. :( Also liked the Vortex scopes had a very nice one for 1100.00 they had a R3 with a 3000.00 scope now that was insane!

And yes I like Hooter's wing and draft but that expense on my Visa is way harder to get past the wife then a gun part.:)

The answer to both Hooters and scopes is "cash". ;)

Thanks good advice, wife is in accounting she is pretty sharp, caught my RBC cash rewards idea, and FasGas cash back...... :(

Now watches my (FRAUD ALERT) and EMT traffic to..... I dislike it when my buddys tell their wives who tell mine, had a the perfect gig buying bullets at CT while doing renos, got ratted out......

Geez, that's tough.

you guys haven't figured out the trick with the wives yet???

when you sell a rifle or other "man" toy..... buy her a nice gift, nuthin expensive, ya know, 50 to 100 bucks...... and let her know where you got the "extra cash"
the next time you buy a rifle...... it won't be such a big deal LOL

my wife doesn't complain when I buy stuff anymore , as long as I'm not blowing the budget LOL

Sorry fellas, I've had a bad friday, so I couldn't really post properly. But to address this again, I was fooling around with the gun earlier today. I may have an answer to stabilize the gun and possibly remove a good portion of the human element without spending extra $ for a shooting vise (I was thinking about it earlier today), and achieve a better conclusion about the accuracy of the scope. The main point of my test earlier this week was to see if the scope's internals would fail under use. In my use, it did not. So now, with my next range visit, I will run a light test on the tracking capability. Looking at going just after the Victoria long weekend. So, you guys/gals will have to wait about 6 weeks.

However, it looks like Randyhub has also confirmed that these scopes do work and can be a good alternative versus other cheap scopes priced around the $100 range.
