Just purchased a KSG earlier today at the LGS. My friend loaned me a set of Magpul BUIS that he's not using...and a vertical foregrip too...just haven't put it on yet.

And a little sig goodness thrown in too heh heh (the LGS installed the SRT today on the spot too)

What you see is what you get...photo taken with my iPad since I don't own a camera.

Foregrip. I had ksg for a while. They do not like to be short shucked. The foregrip helps avoid short shucking as you naturally apply a little more force each way. I found a stubby forend to be enough. Angled foregrip was just ok.

Sold it last year. Too hard on the shoulder for my liking althrough I did put over 500 rds through it.

Congrats!

Maybe a simple field strip to familiarize yourself with it and to ensure all the parts are in good working condition?

Lube it! Both of mine have come bone dry from factory, pay special attention to the followers/feed path...between short stroking and little to no lubrication I can see why some guys have problems. Like any new platform though takes a little practice to get used to...

If you ever try to take the barrel nut off, use an impact driver to break it free...if you need to borrow the custom socket PM me.

Other than that if you ever get your hands on some Agulia Mini Shells buy them! 20+rounds puts a big smile on my face!

Field strip, lubrication and vertical foregrip install completed.

I'm thinking I may need more lube since I was half-assing it at 1am. I guess I can figure that out when I hit the range for a test and zero the BUIS.

Hmmm...lube and ass should not be used in the same sentence haha

The KSG has to be one of the most fun guns I own. I found a magpul afg worked better for me, though I did try a grip much like you have in the pic. I also found it really likes slugs; was nice and accurate with the SCOREs I have.

I thoroughly enjoy my KSG with the EOTech EXPS3-0, it's a real hoot to shoot! There's a video of me shooting 15 rounds of buckshot through mine on here somewhere... Embedded with my review of ammo that I used when testing it...

Cheers
Jay

Be careful with the forward vertical grip. Heard of guys breaking off the plastic rails with the added leverage.

I put an AFG 2 on mine but haven't had a chance to try it with the grip yet.

Just a heads up, Kel Tec changed the foregrip design to reinforce the rails over a year ago...Added internal ribs to the inside of the plastic. Won't be an issue these days!
