Your 22-250 probably has a 1 in 14 twist rate and is typically good for bullets in the 40-55gr weight,,,not ideal for long distance shooting. You certainly dont need to spend $3000 for a FFP thats MOA/MOA or MIL/MIL w/ turrets. Lots of great models in the $1000-1500 mark.
You can also get turrets and a reticle change on your Leupold for alot less then another scope, nothing wrong with a VX-3
Just had got a chance to get my hands on a gen 2 3-18 at the store I work at and I'm considering selling my NF 5.5-22 for this thing. I'm severely impressed with the glass. It's a heavy bastard but dam, the clarity and brightness is amazing through the entire magnification range. I was looking at objects from 300-1000 yds from low to high power and it's just stellar.
Build the rifle you want for tactical rifle shooting and put the scope you want on it at that time. Your 22-250 is a crappy choice for that game. Talk to Rick at ATRS and spec out exactly why you want. You'll be happy you did. Buy once, cry once.
Given that both of those scopes are in high demand, I would snap up the one you decide on as soon as you find one available. You'll have a lot less trouble upgrading or replacing the rifle when you want to, than you will trying to get one of those two scopes when you want it.
I would pick the Razor II 4.5-27x56mm with one of the mil reticles. That's mainly because I don't like any of the reticle NF is offering at the moment...
