buying a rimfire

It's not an AR look, but the Pietta PPS 50 is available in Canada through several retailers. It's not really intended for hunting, and I would be careful where you show it, as some LEO are just... not up to date on legalities of firearms.
It's fun to shoot, though picky with ammo. It wants 1300fps+ @ the muzzle. So bulk ammo around the 1100-1200fps range will give you a FTF in about 1/40 rounds.
50 round drum is fun.

Site sponsor MARSTAR has them.
It's where I got mine :)

i dont have a car so shooting range membership is out of equation for now, i dont think shooting them in crown land would be an issue

The question is do you want a tac cool looking 22 or a good , accurate , low cost 22 .

The next question if you want a tac cool looking 22 , how much do you want to spend and can you swap stocks and do some minor gun smiting ?

Out of the box the Pietta PPS 50 is military looking and at a good price but do you want an Ar 15 type , like the Ruger SR-22, 22LR at a higher dollar cost , or do you want to build a 22 like this one ?
Here is one of mine I built , it's based on a standard Ruger 10-22 with a lot of extras , barrel , stock , rails , bi pod ect ect ect ??

I ment cheap to shoot compare to 30-06 which I'm shooting now, I'm good with tools how ever never done gun smiting, how much did that one cost if you can break down the price for each part
Thanks

Yes and please tell him how much your AR wanna be costs.
Then compare groups with a 715t or 597 at 1/4 the cost.
I still havent found an upgraded sr that shoots even close to Volquarten or dlask factory build for the same cost.

Do you want accurate or do you want it to look like an assault rifle?

I didn't see any mention of price either... You keep saying cheap to shoot. Well any 22lr costs the same price to shoot... So how much are you willing to spend on another gun??

You can get a bolt action 22 for $250 that'll shoot as good as a heavily modded 10-22 that ends up costing 4 times the price.

If you want a real accurate semi-auto I am not sure if there are really any options other than the 10-22. Its the ubiquitous 22lr semi and so it has a huge aftermarket including match grade barrels and new triggers. Not many other brands can claim this for their 22s. I dont think you have many other options for anything that makes you look like a commando either. At least not if you want it to look scary AND be accurate.

On the other hand if you just want a decently accurate bolt action for cheap there is the savage mark ii. Marlin makes one with good reviews for the price too. But these are not tacti-cool. Although a boyds stock can make you feel more like a commando.

Or if you'd rather spend $500 get a CZ. They are the next step up in quality/accuracy. But these don't make you a mall ninja either.

Till you look at the price of 17hmr ammo which seems to be ~30c a rnd vs. less than 20c for 7.62x39. Either go cheap with 22lr or go to 7.62x39.

Less than 20c for 7.62x39? Maybe for corrosive milsurp.

Regardless OP asked about ACCURATE. Which will never happen with an SKS and bulk ammo. So now you are talking more expensive ammo (which probably means reloading I've never seen premium/match 7.62x39 factory ammo) and a $600+ bolt action gun if you have any hope of actually having an accurate gun.

Again when I said cheap I ment the ammo compare to my 30-06 I want it to have the assault rifle look but have some level of accuracy
lets keep the price of the gun around 400

Well too damn bad. lol

For both assault rifle look and good accuracy you are looking at $800-1000.

$300 for a 10-22 then you need a new barrel new trigger new stock ect ect.

Or you can buy a Mossberg 715t. Has the look you want and the price you want. Can't have your cake and eat it too at that price...

thanks that gun will do

The 15-22 is completely in another class compared to the 10/22. If you read reviews, its less picky and groups tighter.
However again as stated, its restricted and also needs pinned to 10 rounds.
If it was NR and unlimited like the 10/22. Im sure it would sell like hotcakes.

Out of box it might have better accuracy than a 10/22 but its twice the price damn near. If you spend some time and money on a 10/22 they are capable of shooting MOA or better.

Also what makes you think it needs to be pinned to 10 rounds? Restricted or not it is still a rimfire. Therefore no mag limit because its not a pistol. They come from the factory with a 25-round magazine.
