Looking at buying one but i heard its hard on brass. im a reloader and just wanted to get some confirmation if this is true or not. Any other issues with this gun?

Thanks:dancingbanana:

The denting of brass probably happens on ejection like the M14 and M1 Garand. I would have a puddle of silicone on the op rod where the brass hits and gets dented on ejection. works good.

what would it take to mod the SU 16 to be the SU 16FX? it was a limited edition, so unless one pops up in the adds, i'd have to settle for just the SU 16 and do the mods if possible...any one have any pics of there tacticools

ar style stock adapter and their compact forend.
The gas block front sight seems model specific.

No op rod, at least in the m14 style of sense, on an su16

As long as you're doing your research, make sure you actually inspect and handle one before buying. I'm one of the many folks who lost all interest after a few moments of looking one over. I eventually shot a few rounds through one, and was surprised at how well it shot, at least compared to what I was expecting. Still have no interest in owning one.

Mi SU16 dents the shoulder on the charging handle when it ejects. Wrapping the charging handle in elctrical tape helped but did not totally eliminate this.
That being said the dents are small and dont seem to effect brass life.
