Noticed that Double Tap is selling 2000 9mm 124gr Zero bullets for $261. Seems like a lot to commit to for a test run. Curious to know what others have thought about their performance? I will be loading them with tight group powder. Charge tbd.

That puts your reloads at $.20/ea, assuming zero cost for brass. I'm a cheap bastard - I'd shop around.

I have used them, still using them up. I have BDX fmj and Cam Pro jhp to try next. Zero's need to be loaded deep. Can limit powder capacity depending on type used.

I'm a cheap sob too. If you're getting your bullets cheaper than that, and of good quality, please let me know where? I'm in the GTA.

They are awesome bullets.

They are jacketed, not plated.

IIRC they will let you buy in 500 counts (the 2000 is four boxes of 500). Just not online.

In IPSC they are regarded as one of the premium projectiles. If you are shooting open, and need jacketed projectiles due to velocity they are a very good option. Usually people who are playing in Open don't mind the extra cost as that is already a very expensive class to be competitive in.

Most people in IPSC (Ontario) who reload that I have ran across tend to shoot plated projectiles; CamPro, Frontier are the two that seem the most popular in Production, Standard. At level 3's you will see people spending the extra for the premium projectiles to for an extra measure of confidence. For my situation, it would add about $50 per thousand to my cost, which doesn't seem huge, but when I load 7 to 10K at a time it really adds up fast.

In summation they are really good, and there is a real value there. You just have to determine what your requirements are.

I don't mind paying a bit extra for a true jacketed bullet. I prefer zeros over just about anything, and since I can just swing over to doubletap I save on shipping which can be significant. 125 gr. JHP over 4.1 of titegroup

zero displays more consistency in circumference and lenght , whereas berry not so much. load density is higher with zeros since they're lenghtier , then sitting deeper in the case for the same AOL .

1-zero
2-campro
3-berry (when nothing else is available loll)

They are very good bullets. They are jacketed, so you can push them pretty fast. They are expensive, but if you are shooting open class with a comp gun it is likely worth it. Plated bullets are more than fine for almost anything but open pistols.

My .02c,
Campro worked fine in my 9mm with 130-132PF, 147gr FMJ
Campro we're horrible in my .40 with 180PF, 200gr TCFM
I was getting a few mikes called on me, and ROs we're suspecting shoot throughs as I had a tumble without any grease ring.
On solo time, I was drilling my splits at 7 yards, every now and then I saw a shotgun pattern on target with a tumbled hole in the middle.
In .40 I actually tear the copper off my Campros once every 20 shots or so, if you shoot further than 10M the fragments won't get the target you only have a greasless tumbled bullet hole.
Been shooting 2000+ Zeros since, not a single issue, and weird enough, with the same load my velocity seems higher than with campro
