Oooooooooh I just picked up smoke grenades last week...now appears I will be back!! It was a pleasure dealing with last by the way...could not have been easier, and thanks for the swag!!

40S&W long 18gr FMJ ???

Yes! I had never heard of it before either. This is what they say:

"This ammo is designed to make major power factor, the 1.180 OAL is great for 1911 style guns with the long chamber, this ammo averages 950 FPS and produces a 170 power factor."

IIRC, it's a competition-oriented round that is loaded with longer COL and with 10mm Auto data. Don't shoot it if you're not sure it's exactly what you want.

This ammo is 1.180 and SAAMI spec for the 40S&W is 1.135 so beware running it in anything other than a compatibly chambered 1911 as it may not chamber properly due to the extra length.

I second the suggestions on the 40 S&W - don't use unless you know that your firearm can safely use them. The other Atlanta Arms ammo is regular size.

Atlanta Arms has an Excellent reputation for ammunition, and I've used them myself in the U.S. Having said that, 170 in IPSC is going to send a lot of folks to minor...need 175 here I figure to reliably meet chronograph.

Do you have any specs on the 10mm? Just wondering about the muzzle velocity.
Thanks!

I am pleased to report that I shot the 223 77gr. Match today at the Sherwood Park Range, and compared it to my Hornady Steel Match 75 gr.,and my Blacks Hills Match. Maybe a little better then the Hornady, and easily equal to the Black Hills Match in my Windham Vex, with a 20" stainless barrel and Gieselle trigger. Highly recommended and how can you go wrong dealing with Kate!!
Recommended in my books for sure!
