Hello

So I have a newer model Sig P220.

I just installed a SRT kit (short reset trigger). The SRT install was easy and everthing trigger function wise seems to work properly, and wow what a difference.

The problem ive run into is the decocket no longer works at all, it never releases or even engages the sear.

The P220 SRT kit comes with a new decocker, with proper reasurch the new and old decockers are different. However the one that came with my SRT kit is exactly the same as the one in the gun. Its seems the decocker no longer contacts the sear at any point with the new SRT parts installed. I have tried to install both the old and new decocker with the SRT kit but to the same resolve.

If i remove the decocker system all togeather the gun still functions fine just with no decocker. Everything works fine with all the old parts installed, but its hard to change back as the SRT is so nice.

Has anyone encountered this? Is it possible that they have sent me the wrong decocker in the kit?

Thanks for the reply and link. Unfortunately thats just the SRT kit install, nothing different from other vids or how I did mine. In the fourth vid he does reinstall the decocker but his works fine. From what I can see I installed all my parts in the same and proper ways.

Cheers,
Evan

100% well at least the part # and lable say so.

And with much reasurch the only difference between the kits is the p220 comes with the new decocker and the p226 ect do not. You can use the sear and safety between the kits.

Here is the best pic of the difference between the P220 factory and srt decocker I can find. Both the one I have and the new one from the srt kit look like the non srt one in the pic. Supposedly there is a T marking on the srt on which mine does not have either.

Im thinking they threw the wrong/stock decocker In the kit from Sig instead of the proper srt one.

That sucks because the SRT reset is amazing, but just with no decocker. It works fine with the none SRT parts, so I can always put it back easily.

How would I go about ordering a proper P220 SRT decocker lol. There's no way the shop I got it from or Sig will be able to help with what I got in the kit. And I don't want to spend $100 on another kit just to compare if I do not have to.

Cheers,
Evan

Ok so got a bit more info. Ok so I pulled all the SRT kit parts back out and if you look at the SRT sear there is a notch of metal cut out of that the factory sear has. it is right where the decocker would meet and disengage the sear. All this info with the previous pics if the decocker differences leads me to believe they definitely shipped tge wrong decocker. The thicker tab on the SRT decocker would definitely make up for the removed metal on the sear.

Only question what can I do to my decocker to make it connect with the sear. Bend it or maybe jb weld it. I might even be able to remove some decocker tab material to allow the decocker to go highwr before it contacts the frame.

Heres a pic of the two sears. You can see clearly on the left one (SRT) the cutout on the right side of the sear which is there on the right one (factory).

Cheers,
Evan

You can see in this pic of it all assembled very clearly. The decocker is in the place where it should normally decock tge gun. If you look closely you can see the notched sear and how much further the decocker needs to go make contact with the sear now.

Take it all apart and reassemble it slowly and carefully. When I did my 226 I had to do it twice to get every thing to mesh up properly, I had the same thing decocker wouldn't work. If you assemble it in the wrong order this happens.

I've taken it apart and resembled it like ten times. Watched multiple videos over and over. I cant see another way of installing the parts.

If im doing something wrong im missing it big time. What did you do differently the second time?

Sorry I can remember the exact thing I did differently it was a while ago. If you have done it that much it prob is not an assembly issue.

Problem solved. I bought a new kit and it came with the proper decocker. The differences are exactly like pictured above. Thanks for all the help.

P.S. Ill be selling my kit as P226/229 kit now, as that kit comes without a new decocker and the other parts are identical. I've got it listed in the exchange section or message me with info.
