Show off your LONG 12G SHOTTY (18.5 or over & mods)

Thank you sir. I'd personally rather have 8+1 than settle for less ;-)
Heat shield on its way, & I'll add a shot with the bayonet mounted on the next sunny day.

That's a 590A1. Early 590A1 receivers were only marked 590. Rifle sight, parkerized heavy barrel, metal triggergaurd, metal safety and a bayonet lug = 590A1.

It only says "590" on it. No heavy barrel, no metal trigger guard or safety. But it is old.
I think they call this model a 590SP these days.

Nice score. I've got a 590a1 and I've been thinking of getting wood furniture for a while. Did you have to mod the fore grip to fit?

So far just a choate stock and stock fore grip

1974 Mossberg 500ATP ( picked up for 200 $ )
1974 870 ( picked up for 250$ shipped )

Ill take a SXS picture tomorrow. Ive since sold my 870 express, and my Maverick 88. The old shotguns are way smoother, and the triggers are quite nice.

I think I might have you beat machman , Picked my first one up in '92' , receiver marked 500A , you can tell the really old one's from the square ejection port , new one's are rounded .
back then , IIRC , the only up grades you could get were Mossberg ghost ring sights and a adventures outpost sidesaddle which is the same as tacstar makes now.

Left one , 20" barrel ,factory Mossberg ghost ring sights , replaced front blade with Meprolight night sight , magpul barrel clamp [ the one for the remmington 870 fits the "non" 590a1 ] , Hogue overmolded forend , mesa leo stock adapter with endine buffer and magpul CTR stock [ I like my sling points as far back as I can , that's way not just a moe stock ] , the pistol grip is a cut down ergo AR grip......and some rattle can krylon .

Right one , 18.5" barrel ,started off as a pistol grip breecher , Mossberg ghost ring sights put on by Calgary shooting center , again meprolight front blade , vang comp +1 mag ext , a GG&G sling plate in behind that , just barely works with a magpul para clip , magpul stock and forend in fde of course , surefire G2 in a VLTOR light clamp and a mesa sidesaddle.

First off, I must say, NICE LONG GUNS gentlemen!
Greenhorse, I remember when I first acquired this shotgun brand new, from Alan Lever himself ( & I won't speak I'll of the dead)
there was not much in the way of aftermarket parts. What a difference a few decades makes!
Is this the square ejection port you were speaking of? Also, check out the new oversized safety...not as easy to install
as the Youtube videos would indicate...I had to disassemble the receiver, no biggy.

Is that a Saddleback bag???

Yessir. :)
I really lucked out on it. Not only did I get it at the previous price, before their cost went up, but I got it while the Canadian dollar was higher in value so I saved 5%, and I didn't get dinged any extra taxes or brokerage fees or anything.
