Did I just lose my PROHIB status!! NEED ADVICE

Correct me if I wrong but once insurance has paid you for items don't those items become the property of the insurance company? So wouldn't it be like you sold all the guns?

This would be a concern.
I'd leave one of those frames out of the payout.
You know, collector value, great gramppas.

I think your fine.
You did not sell them it was destroyed in a fire.

Agreed

When you get your prohib status reinstated Marstar has a couple FN-FAL's at a good price for now, buy one of those so I can live vicariously through you .

To be safe, I'd simply keep one frame, and one replacement reg cert. It should be easy to do since the insurance company will want the certs and frames from the ones they are covering. Even if it's not fireable, trigger lock it and case it as if it were.

I bought a really lousy 12(6) revolver at an auction for $25, just because it had the shortest barrel I have ever seen and nobody wanted it. On a whim, in case anybody ever wants to have a "mine is smaller than yours" contest.

I think I might bury it in a can in my backyard so that it can never be stolen or destroyed.

Better safe than sorry. I can give you a 12.6. Do you want a 32 or 38?

That's awesome! you guys are great.
I just need the cheapest POS 12.6 available, frame only is fine,,,,im not gonna shoot it, just need it for a while till I get settled and buy the new bond arms derringer I always wanted.
PM sent
Thanks
John

If memory serves a conversation with an older fella I know where he had a prohib rifle stolen,(his only one at the time) and after reporting it stolen I believe the pulled his prohib endorsement. I may be wrong but I wouldn't put anything past the faceless bureaucrat in some office deciding what to do with your endorsement. Pessimism when it comes to firearms law is sometimes required.

To add on a light tangent.

IIRC correctly, if you had your one and only prohib stolen, you would still have prohib status because the firearm exists. So in your situation you should be ok.

Disclaimer: this is using common sense and reason. We all know full well that is extremely lacking in our firearms law, the gov't and the rcmp, so good luck.

Until you receive the cheque for your prohibit, they're still "yours", but hop on a transfer, just in case.

For a bunch of baby-killing animal-killing mass murderers, we're probably the nicest, most supportive community out there (unless you put a Glock owner in a room with a 1911 owner and ask which gun is better :) )
