Would it be possible to get one in .30/06 and get it rebored and chambered to 9.3x62? Or would that be much more costly than a rebarrel?

I did one a few years ago. The nice thing now is a company is selling the bolt extensions separately, making a switch barrel very easy. Mine needed a little magazine tweaking, at least one mag did. The chap I sold it to lives in/ around Bella Coola as I recall.

I'm looking for the barrel extension for a 760. I've been looking for a beater 760, so far I have everything but the barrel extension. I'm wanting to do a switch barrel, 338-06.

here is the link to the company, it is for the 7600 and model6 rifles, the 760 needs a different one. If you have a 760, and want another barrel extension, 742 Rem. use the same one, and tend to go cheaper than 760's.

I left a 760 in 358Winchester in the Yukon on my first trip. Last I heard a horse rolled on it and broke the stock.

Well you did kinda threw cold water on it. Frankly I thought you'd be all over this one. Think about, a cartridge with the same general; dimensions as a .35 Whelen, but with greater powder capacity, and a wider selection of bullet weights that are intended for big game, and chambered in a FUDD machine gun. What's not to like?
