2015 Member Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot Official Thread

Gentlemen,
Sadly I will not be able to attend. My unit has scheduled a 3week SAR training exercise starting 01 June (took them long enough to make up their minds). Luckily, I get to both instruct AND participate! All the new guys going, enjoy the company, I have. I'll be glad when my life stops being controlled by short timings. 3 years left.
On another note, I got my first 19 gophers Saturday.
To those who are about to shoot, I salute you!

Looks like about 66 days and counting. I can't wait either!

Ted too bad you won't be there this year. I've been practicing on the harmonica. I could accompany your guitar, or more likely have all Ernie's barn cats by the fire...

Ted, its very unfortunate you will be unable to attend....Cant the damn Canadian Forces live without you for just one weekend?? What if we shot you in the foot??? I had been practicing some caterwauling to go along with your fine strumming :(

I am very looking forward to this year!!!! Missing last year was horrendous!!!
 
Gentlemen, it looks like I won't be able to attend this year. It was a high point for me last year and I was really looking forward to it, but I have certain commitments over that time period that are making juggling too difficult.

I will do my best to make it next year and I wish you all the best.

just blew up the T-case in my jeep 2 days ago. scrambling to get her replaced but where I live parts stores are a lonnnnngggg ways out.
seeing if my co-pilot is still in, maybe we can take his car LOL
not looking good for me :(

It SO sucks not to see my name here. 2.5 yrs and I will have more control over my dang life. Come on retirement!!!
 
How is the area you guys hunt? I havent seen more than a dozen gophers in the pastures that used to burn up 1500 rounds of ammo in a weekend in years past? I wont be able to make the trip for a weekend but just wondering what the general area is like for gopher populations?
 
I had a good time last year. I drove down from Leader on two different days. Unfortunately I can't attend this year, as my daughter is graduating that weekend and I will be tied up.
