Bought my first rifle today

Well, I went out and bought my first rifle today. I got my PAL in the mail on friday, and it was burning a hole in my pocket! I went to Cabelas and bought a 1953 refurbished Tula SKS in a laminate stock. Won't be able to shoot it for quite awhile but I love it! All numbers match except the magazine, and it's in pretty decent shape I think. Just thought i'd share!

congrats, no go shoot it and get a bunch of ammo, and clean it with boiling water, you'll be goood to go

Just curious, how long did it take from the day you mailed the application with the test results to the day you PAL arrived?

Wow that is quick, when I did mine 4-5 years ago it was at least 5 months

Did you apply for PAL or RPAL?

Thanks, I'm wondering if RPAL takes longer. Did they call both of your references? Any idea how long between that and it being issued?

Congrats on the first purchase, you can't go wrong with an SKS. Best rifle dollar for dollar in my opinion.

As far as i know they didnt call my references, i would assume RPAL will take longer though.

Don't wait for them to call your references. Have your references call them. You can do that right after the waiting period is over. I had my Rpal in under two months.

Congrats. Canada ammo sells great non corrosive ammo for that beauty
