What's your strategy at gun shows?

I will be attending a pretty big gun show in Kamloops this week-end. I'm in the market for either a very good shotgun with combo barrels, or a good long barrel shotgun and a cheapo wilderness defense one. Plus a few accessories and a bit of ammo. I wonder what's your strategy when it comes to gun shows.

Do you buy the first gun that fits the bill before someone else snatches it up, or do you keep going and see if there is something better, but risk losing the first deal by the time you are back? I ask because with 3 hockey-sized arenas, it's both likely that the first deal would be gone and that the there is another deal down range in the arena.

First and most importantly, don't bathe and dispense with all other personal hygiene until after the big day.
That way you will get your space when inspecting the firearms you are after, and the vender is more likely to take a lowball offer just to get rid of you.;)

LOL. Weird but could work!

I make an offer and usually stick to it, sometimes I go back just before I'm ready to leave and see if they will reconsider. Last time it backfired on me and the two mags I was looking at got sold, oh well, there will be plenty of others available ....

Try to get there very early. Some times there are some good deals, just got to know what your looking for. Sometimes I set my mind on a certain gun I'm going to look for and if it's a good deal I buy it. It may take several different gun shows to find some good deals.

Deals can be had with some provocation but know your target product well. Know what you want and what it's worth in your quality range. This will put you at a good advantage for negotiating.

I go because I like guns.
I'm no bargain hunter with only money and pricing on my mind. Its a show, and I'm entertained by it and its content.
