How well do there rifles shoot? I hear that they are a 2-3 MOA rifle out of the box with there crappy trigger, but how well do they do after the after market sear packs are installed?

Thanks
Moe

They are as accurate as a decent AR. I modded my trigger removing the extra trigger spring they added for paratroopers. It is still relatively crappy but usable. There is about 8 inches of linkage between the trigger and the sear. I think an ok trigger is about as good as it gets for a tavor.

With the 1:7 barrel twist rate as standard on the Tavor, don't expect many respectable groups with light bullets. The 1:7 needs 69 grainers or more to shoot its best.

My guess is the 3 inch crowd are using milsurp 55 grainers, not 69 grain SMKs.

Any of the drop in triggers are a great improvement. Waiting on my geissele trigger bow to find out how good it can actually get.

Here is a couple groups I shot with my Tavor at 100 yards, Keep in mind that I am in no way anything near a skilled marksman I use a non precision 5x tactical scope and used 55gr american eagle and Tulammo 62 gr both are bulk ammo. I do have the 2 stage sabra trigger on my Tavor I have never fired it using the factory tigger. Overall I am very happy with my Tavor i've shot like 500 rounds of bulk ammo and everything has fed fired and ejected with no issues at all. I cleaned it today and was surprised at just how clean it was after 200+ rounds of "dirty" bulk ammo, Cleaning was a breeze just wiped it down it looked like it has never been shot.

I can get mine down consistently to 1.5 moa with hornady vmax, factory trigger
look at my threads tavor ammo review
Thats plenty accurate for me.

Mine shoots about 2moa with AE62 grain ball, a geissle trigger pack and a 4 power ACOG. It shoots minute of barn door with 55 grain. Didn't get chance to try the 75 grain today.

Hmm ! Seem to me I have the worst Tavor ever, Factory trigger, top with ELCAN SpecterOS4x, I got like 3 inch grouping consistently with PMC X-Tac 5.56 NATO green tip 62 gr. All groups are 3 rounds grouping.

There are two shooter tried out the rifle, me and him are experience shooter. Both were getting the same result.

I can not wait for the trigger bow from Armseast to try out.

M855 is not known for being an amazingly consistent round. Get your hands on some heavier weight OTM and see what you get.

The PMC X-tac M855 does not shoot well in all rifles. FN and HK barrels like them. DD is fine with it. It doesn't work well at all with KAC and TAVOR. It is hero or zero.

The only things that work well all around are 77gr SMK and 69gr SMK.

It would have to be accurate enough for a shot on a deer brain at 100m. Yes it is legal in my province and I have done it with a bolt gun with 100% success. Just would like to do it with a lighter black rifle than my SL8. Thinking a bullpup is the answer for my old bad back.

I had a friend who shot deer in the head all the time. He shot the jaw off one and it was a real mess. Most hunters can shoot for the head but the margin of error makes it more ethical to shoot center mass. 77 gr is more than enough at 100 m to down a deer. I would get a tikka you wont get the consistent accuracy out of a tavor. An acr non restricted or robinson arms could maybe do it. Just my two cents and not trying to be preachy.

Not taking that advice as preachy at all. I am sad to hear of the jaw shot. I only take shots on still deer, from a rest, within 100m, and with heavy bonded projectiles. I am more nervous of a center of mass hit with a 22 center fire failing to stop a deer than a head shot. If I get enough positive feedback about a boiler shot then I will consider doing it. I use to do boiler shots with the 308. The ACR and XCR would be a bit heavy, They would be close to 9lb after optics. The Tavor would be too but it being a bullpup would be in close to the body thus not straining my back as bad. I could consider the T3 again at about 7lbs with glass. It would work but really looking for a black gun option that a bad back guy could carry and use easier.

Don't encourage him.

Oh, darn, one of those. Sorry I fell for it. I didn't think they could do that.

So lets say I went with a boiler shot. I know a T3 would be fine for accuracy, and think the Tavor could do it. The T97 um I don't know. Thoughts? (inside 100m)
