I picked up a mark 2 and simmons scope over the weekend and went out to my land to do some shooting. It was a nice day so my girlfriend decided to come along. She has played with a few of my guns in the past and is fairly fond of the Rossi 92 in .357 mag.

Well after I had the scope on the mark 2 zeroed she wanted to try it out. 20 rounds in and she was hooked. She has deemed it 'hers'.

Looks like I will have to pick up another bolt action .22 for myself. Maybe something different this time.

If you get a duelling tree from Action Targets, it will really help!
This past weekend I tried mine since I set it up thursday night.
Had so much fun, I went through 2 bricks.
Shipping wasnt bad.

I only wish I could get my wife out shooting, sadly though I doubt it will ever happen. My daughter on the other hand is almost of age to start shooting and she is pumped! good on ya for getting her out there man!
 
Yeah I know what thats like. the only way I could get my marlin .22 mag out of her hands was I had to buy her a savage .17 with the thumb hole stock for her birthday. The only problem is now I much prefer the savage .17.

I almost lost my CZ455, got her a Savage Mark 2 instead.
Things worked out, except for my hurting 22LR ammo stash problem.

Though purchases are easier now to deal with now that she shoots
 
Good stuff! My wife isn't that keen on shooting, my 2 sons aren't really either. My 13 year old daughter~has her firearms safety/hunter's ed course done...loves shooting groundhogs in the spring/summer, hunting grouse in the fall. You never know who will latch-on to the sport. I expose them all, give them opportunities...and whoever it sticks with, it sticks with. I have no idea whether or not I'd want my wife to be into shooting...but I suppose it would be cool. Except..she might soon realize scopes don't all cost $100. Guns $150. :)

You do realize that the next bolt-action .22 is likely to become 'hers' as well, right...........? :d:d:d

She should get her own RPAL so she can buy whatever she wants instead of 'stealing' your guns!!!!! lol

Great job on bringing another shooter into our sport!
 
I did the same thing with my then-girlfriend/now-fiancee and would have lost my pimped 17HMR if not for buying a 597 for her to plink with. It costs me more in ammo now, but it's easier to buy new guns (as long as its something she will want to shoot ;) and a great date :) !!
