Girsan 92FS

Bought a Girsan 92FS, for reasons I can't comprehend, I have always wanted a Beretta 92 and happened to run into this Turkish copy at Lanz. Have not taken it to the range....yet

I was looking at those the other week, I've always wanted a 92 also and at half the price it's a tempting option especially with the good reviews I keep reading...hope it's a good pistol for you!

Its beautiful, I also wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I prefer the full sized though, the compact just doesn't look right.

I see that now....no safety pin to stop the slide coming back during a catastrophic slide failure...thanks for the info

Very pleased with the quality of manufacturing, fit and finish. might have a chance later today to go out and shoot her and see how things are doing

I've heard the Girsan has all steel parts as opposed to the plastic and plastic coated metal parts on the Beretta. Is this true?

everything is steel except the frame which I believe is aluminum (magnet test)

Love mine. Solid gun. Apparently the tooling was set up in Turkey by H & LK in the 90's to produce this current military issue sidearm. Fit and finish is good. The double action is loooooooooong and can feel a bit spongy. Single action is good, though the trigger travels too far rearward. I have had this gun for almost 2 years. Zero issues.

I've shot a Taurus Stainless 92. It was nice, zero issues. They're comparable in fit and finish in my opinion.

went to the range, my Girsan shoots very well....when I got home, I had a parcel waiting for me from Al Flahertys with two spare mags and a holster. Fast service by the way, so thank you!! Only disappointment is that the Beretta mags don't fall free when you depress the mag release button. Ironically, the mags that come with the pistol are made in Italy, by Mec-gar and they function perfectly, but not the Beretta mags. Going to assume that there must be a fix....oh, with one round in the Beretta mag, those mags just fly out, any thoughts?

i bought one, Just waiting on my range safety course to start so i can shoot it. can't wait.

I am going to ask again, with the supplied mags, manufactured in Italy by Mec-gar, no issues, they work perfectly.
Bought some spare mags, manufactured in Italy by Beretta, only issue is that they don't drop free with slide forward and empty. Any thoughts how to fix this?
