Any reason I shouldn't get a Vortex Diamondback?

Buying a new scope in the new few weeks. I think I have settled on a Vortex Diamondback in 3-9 or 4-12. It will be going on a Savage Axis in 270 Winchester that is getting a Boyds stock and a trigger job. I was also going to put a 1-piece rail on it (but might not if it forces me to use higher rings so the scope bell clears the rail)

Can anyone give me a reason why I don't want to buy this scope? Reviews paint them in a positive light, and you can't beat the warranty. They also (apparently) have a really good field of view? It seems to be a bit short and a bit heavy, but I figure 1" in length and 3 ounces in weight isn't a big deal...?

I have a Diamondback in 3-9 with the BDC and it is an okay scope. Glass and clarity are adequate, but it isn't top shelf (I have a Sightron 3-9x40 SIIB and it's resolution is noticeably better). Clarity seems to be about the same as the older Bushnell 3200, so middle of the line. They are a little bulky, but the field of view appears larger as the viewpiece is larger than most scopes. Mine is on a .22LR, so I can't comment on the durability. I wouldn't pay more than $225 for the 3-9.

What was the cost on the SiiB? A quick google search puts them at $500+?

It seems going price for the Diamondback is $280+tax. Is there something else you would recommend over it for the same price? Bulk and weight are not too much of a concern, this isn't a super lightweight bush gun build or anything. A bigger FOV is probably worth the weight/bulk for my purposes.
