Thanks to Wanstall's for timing the M305 delivery right down to pulling into the driveway from a hitch, with the posty truck backing in looking for signature... ;)
I have made contact with Frank from M14.ca, awaiting his Black Feather ORSG, ordering the CASM GenII rail next payday and going back and forth on the Blackfeather after some evil member here planted the seed!!

Function test = Good, Indexing = Good, Gas tube alignment = Some tweaking to the 11 o'clock position, but nothing major....
Colour me happy, hitting the range - dead stock on Monday! Will report then....

You mentioned the barrel index is at 530...don't go by what the feed ramps of your chamber look like . The best way is is to use a couple parallels mounted on your rifle . One on the flat part on the heel of your receiver and the other on a STRAIGHT flashider front sight base . Then view the 2 paralells from both ends to ensure its indexed correctly . Some people use levels to do this as well .

Sorry, should have said the gas lock index's at 5:30 - My bad... Appreciate the insights to this old warhorse tho!! Committed to the tech file!

Now you need to grease that baby up, if you don't have a syringe, drive down to East Hongcouver, any alley behind or within a block of Main St. and East Hastings. Find a dumpster, ANY dumpster and look down for the largest syringe, USE THAT syringe and fill it full of grease, ANY Grease is better, even KY Jelly or Vaseline will do! :eek:

For you GTA dudes, just head down to the Beaches area since the needles are washing up on the shore. I did find a pile of used needles in the bleachers, playing field of Jarvis Collegiate on field trip with my Grade 12 Religion class (we were visiting the Homeless Shelters for Teens outside Church St, the ###borhood....) :cool:

Almost slipped on the used condoms along the track perimeter. Watch yer step! Slicker than snot on a doorknob! :)

To reinforce Barney's point above, I had a couple failures to eject from my DA SOCOM last fall where the steel cased Norinco ammo would get stuck in the chamber. That was after discovering it to be both a very accurate and nice handling rifle, so I was really hoping that I didn't get a lemon.

I brought her out for the first time this past Sunday and discovered during a thorough check over with a friend that further to the working parts around the bolt and trigger group that the op rod spring and guide were drier than the desert. A thorough lubing of the rifle (my friend has rebuilt many of them and insured that I didn't miss a spot) brought it back to life.
 
Dak welcome to the club! Get her lubed up and get used to her functioning and safety drills as she came out of the box first. The doodads will come with time unless you like to shoot over irons, then DIY accuracy tips and lots of bulk ammo is your friend.
