Well, at least we don't have to worry about this here, I think. :confused: Pretty scary though. Apparently the rooting pigs accumulate the fall out deposited over a good part of Europe after the Chernobyl disaster, even 28 years later. This is the most recent story on the subject I could find in English, but there recurring concerns even now especially since much of what German hunters harvest ends up being sold to the general Public.

for five years we were not authorized to pick mushrooms, blueberries and eating wild boar. red deer was ok. in was in Slovenija and it was due to Chernobyl.

do not knwo the actual situation. drinking milk was prohibited for a while.
 
That consumption threshold is so strict, it's laughable. The potassium-40 naturally occurring in the human body clicks away at about 5000 bq alone. Add some radon, an x-ray or two and airplane flights, and eating some pork at 600 bq doesn't really affect your annual dose all that much. Also, keep in mind that different nuclides partition in different parts of the body. Which nuclide is involved and where it is measured, is a critical piece of information.

...obviously. The radiation protection gear should be worn as shown there, too.
 
I'm Up for a Hunting trip, Don't care for the radiation, I have had 5 X-ray's in the last 1 1/2 what's a bit more going to change wild boar hummm so good on the Bar-B-Q.

But Yes we are killing the planet slowly. but over population will be the number one problem soon FOOD shortage will come with that.

now back to my cave I go.
