Hey Guys,

How long does the membership process take at Target Sports Canada (Grange)?
I submitted my application via email last week and I sent a follow-up email to see if they have received it.
I just wanted to get a timeline of the whole process.

Thanks!
Eddie

after they receive your payment you are put on a list in priority sequence for a club-level safety course. if the waiting list is long then the upcoming CLSC may be already full and you will have to way for the following one. the wait for CLSC is usually 1-2 months. after you have completed your CLSC you will have to do your three probationary shoots (i completed all three in one week). after completing the third probationary shoot you will sign some papers and, if you already own restricted firearms, they will apply for an ATT for you which took 2 weeks for mine to arrive.

I just called them and they said I'll know once they charge my credit card.
Hopefully, it doesn't take long for them to process my application.
Thanks!

Is this the normal way to do things in Ontario or is this a range policy ??

Just be patient - been down this road. They are also doing renovations at the same time. They are lumping everybody for the safety course. It's first come first served basically.

some of it is range policy (ie. the number of probationary shoots) but i think most of it is a provincial thing (ie. club applying for LTATT). the only club that i know of in ontario that does not do a CLSC is Urban Tactical.

I received an email back from them and they advised that processing applications are a bit slow at the moment.
They did let me know that they will email me once a course is available.

it took me over 3 months before they called me for a safety class and now 6 months later I still don't have my membership card
great place to shoot at lots of bays but they are extremely slow at getting anything done for their members.

If thats the case, I guess I won't be a full member until October :(

Passed my shoots in April. Still waiting for my membership card, ATT and Key Fob. Crazy slow.

But its a 15 minute drive from my house so I'll continue to wait.

I joined grange for the same reason. Was patiently waiting and now happily shooting. :d
Well worth the wait.

And welcome, guys!

the membership card and keyfob are usually ready before the ATT but they usually call you when all three are ready for pickup.
you can always call them and ask if the membership card and keyfob are ready for earlier pick up (thats what i did). my ATT was ready a week later.

Part of the problem is that Target (which is separate from the Grange) it's in the middle of replacing the backstops and the ventilation system. Which reduces the availability of the range. The other thing is that the membership guy at the Grange is only there three days a week and is a volunteer. Patience will be rewarded.

As far as I know there's no GTA range south of Barrie that has outdoor shooting and is accepting new members.
