50 Beowulf Metal Magazine Review

Is that the defining part that determines what is a magazine? Or us the mag body the defining part and things like springs, followers and floor plates are then side issues?

If the mag body is designed as a 50 Beowulf mag body, do the rest of the parts used to complete the mag matter in its classification?

Anyone who wants to find out the hard way, raise your hand..........

I hypothesize as I realize one can be charged for having an unpinned mag body. If you just had a mag body with a rivet installed, and no other parts, would you be ok? The other parts wouldn't be considered a mag on their own, but the courts have found that mag bodies alone constitute a mag.

Therefore, I think the mag body design alone constitutes a mag, and the spring, follower and floor plate are unregulated parts. Perhaps like an ak muzzle brake fitted to a vz58 doesn't make the vz58 a prohibited AK.

But I'm just spit balling.

There is no such thing as a calibre specific follower. It is a follower designed for the AR-15. There is no 223 or 50 follower. it is an anti-tilt ar-15 follower.

However if you do not want then do not order or open the package and we will take them on return.

Here's what my concern is:

~2 months ago, someone posted about how they got word from the RCMP (William Etter to be specific) and long story short, these new C-Products Beowulf mags were supposedly being made on the exact same tooling as the regular .223 mags and CBSA was being given the heads up about not allowing the mags in.
He was pretty much run out of here on a rail for even suggesting it and the thread was nuked.

Now, is that the case here? *shrugs* Who knows, but considering the fact that 2 sponsors so far have not received their mags with no real explanation as to why, the fact that the followers have the 5.56 milled out of them, C-products themselves state that they do not make any .50Beo mags, and the one store that does have these mags says that supposedly they are they only company with an order with C-products right now.........I dunno.........seems a litle odd

But maybe everything is kosher, we shall see, I suppose......

That is just to help Identify so you don't load the wrong round in it. Just like with Coffee cups saying caution hot. Every follower for the AR-15 will be the same.

The first runs of Alexander arms Beowulf mags used a 5.56 style looking follower. Later versions have used the follower in your pics.
I was hoping that these mags would have that follower as it addresses all the reliability concerns when using the 50 beo round, even if they used the older AA followers they could be used but there is a reason why AA swapped to a new design.

The anti tilt follower commonly found in 556 mags however will not allow a 50 beowulf rifle to function properly

And, respectfully, I think you are being naive as to why any company in Canada would bring these .50Beowulf mags in. It sure isn't for all the .50 Beowulf shooters ;)

Which is probably why AA mags aren't imported as frequently now.

In the end these are not illegal they have been inspected and have been made by C products defense. We ordered from the owner themselves at shot show. Which is why we have received the first shipment. We made the first order and did not advertise until they were in stock. If you do not want to purchase them we do not have hard feelings. So if you want them please call and place an order and we ship out same business days. Otherwise you Gentleman have a nice day.
