How to read the serial # on CC SA15.7

So 001-500 for SA20? and 500-1000 for SA15.7? Or is it random generated, so mixed up?

Random pattern of sa15.7 and sa20 rifles serial between 1 and 1000. Not 500 of one followed by 500 of the other. The lowers were all built together, anodized then laser engraved either sa15.7 or sa20.

The only difference between the SA semi auto lowers, and the police semi auto lowers is the laser engraving and the last two letter suffix is different. All made from the same semi auto forgings.

Someone was selling a set of SA in the EE. One was a 15.7 and the other a sa20. Near sequential numbers.

No one did. I just made an assumption and was looking for confirmation. It would make sense that the ones they held back would be #1-20, or perhaps 1-10 and 990-1000. If his were, say, #11 then we would have a pretty good indication of which is more likely.

On a separate note, did anyone ask in the CC forum before it was shut down what the "DB" at the end means?

It was a unique suffix to seperate them from the police semi auto lowers. For frt and verification reasons
 
The serials are indeed mixed, I have both SA20 & SA15.7 and they are near consecutive (separated by one unit) in the #55-#65 range.
 
I just got my transfer notification for my new SA15.7 and the serial number listed starts with 1401***DB. Did Colt Canada decide to make more rifles after the initial batch of 1000?
