Vz2008???

The cz858, vz58 and cz958 are the same platform.

But when you compare guns made from surplus, mass production large scale military orders, vs guns made in limited supply, new for the civilian market, you are going to get a difference in pricing.

Economy of scale. Just the way it is. New receiver plus surplus parts kit (858 and U.S. Guns) vs new production receivers and new production parts kits (vz58 and cz958)... That is the comparison.

If you are ever curious, look at the production costs per any military gun, vs any civilian produced gun, and the cost per gun difference will astound you.

Factor in the increasing lack of market supply, with a stable or increasing demand, and prices will go up.

not to mention inflation and the CAD $$ tanking...

Yes whats your point ?

The U.S. receiver are newly made and whole rifles are selling for 399$-499$

We are getting gouged no doubt about that.

So have Irunguns bring you a Restricted one over (if there's an FRT). I'm sure they could do that for you. Anyone surprised that almost everything is cheaper in the USA, must have not been to the USA in their lifetime.

This is from somewhere on the internet, imagine if this was real :

Or 399$ with 5 mags..

No #### it's out of stock..

The only way to get something similar is to buy a CZ 58 with synthetic stock for 1100$ +tx and shipping and order a furniture set for 250$ +tx and shipping and a folding stock for 100$+tx and shipping.. But you still don't have the cool AK style muzzle end.

Did anyone notice the folder butt stock on that first vz2008 that was for sale? It had something added on top of it. It looked like a round pipe for a cheek piece.

Cheaper ?? Like half (or more) cheaper ? For no reason ? No many things.

Yeah sure 2-10k on a car... fine. But this is something else.

Don't factor the usd cad change that is currently crap. It was not 2 years ago and prices were still double here.

Century Arms vz2008? Do you guys remember Trigger Wholesale. They pulled that stunt with vz2008 in order to get their name around. It ended up in a Big Fiasco. Rifles never showed up, many dealers started pre-sale and had to return money to their customers. Many good dealers from this forum had to loose face because someone was trying to lunch their buissnes

multilateral ppp is 20% for anything canada over us pricing thats pretty much the rule since the end of the 80s (http://www.bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/lafrance_e.pdf)

add another 25% for no economies of scale due to the smaller canadian market

add another 20% for canadian dollar
voila

I buy auto parts there, half price.

You seem awfully angry on the subject. Write a letter and complain, like we did about the CZ858 situation. They were plentiful before they took them away. What's this thread about again, CA VZ2008? A rifle that never came here and is cheaper in the USA... keep dreaming. CSA VZ58's are plentiful, don't like the price, buy one on the EE.

Obviously you think that importing firearms and making a Canadian legal barrel is free? You might want to educate yourself on the red tape for importation of firearms to Canada and tailoring them to our stupid laws.

It's funny because Canadian firearms retailers make ultra slim margins on firearms and ammunition and everything thinks they're trying to rip us off.
