As stated in the subject, I'm looking to buy a browning high power. I would prefer a MK I but we have a hard enough time getting them in the CF these days! I checked the EE with no luck and I've tried some of our sponsor businesses too. Anyone know where I might find one, new or used? The closer the look to the issued model the better, as well!

Thanks in advance for the productive input!

Inglis HP's pop up from time to time. You just have to keep a good eye for one. Be prepared to pay a decent sum. I would say at least 1200 for a decent one, more for a mint, original non refinished example.

If you are not set on an Inglis specifically, you could start with a commercial browning and have it refinished and new sight to make a clone.

The one on the EE right now looks like a nice gun....... maybe 1970's vintage? If I remember correctly the ask is $750.

If you really want want an Inglis be prepared to pay for the collector value....as other's have said, 1200+ depending on condition seems to be the average ask.

I have one but would buy more if the price was right. I can't understand I see all these US ads for surplus HP's but none ever seem to come up here. Someone needs to import a bunch

My '67 T-series is on the Never Sell List….these are fantastic HGs. Everyone should own one.

I've read some discussion on the various BHP forums about whether it's correct to refer to the early guns as "MK I". IE...People saying that other than Inglis, neither Browning or FN guns prior to the (1982?) MK II and today's MK III are properly referred to "MK I's" . I've always wondered about that. I have a 1977 that while pre MKII is neither a C or T series. I'm never really sure what to call it.

On a related note, whats people opinions on current production Browning Hi Powers? Thinking of picking up a nice new Hi Power standard.

The Mk III triggers are horribly stiff. They still have the mag disconnect safety. And I hate the plastic thumb shelf grips they come with.
I smoothed out my trigger, kept the safety intact and put on a pair of Pachmyers. A bevelled mag well would be a bonus!

I have a MK III in .40 S&W it is a very well made gun but I agree with Still alive about the triggers and the grips. I took the MDS out and that helped a lot. The plastic grips were replaced with a set of rosewood Hougues......better now!

One up for auction. Landsborough auctions. You can bid online. Auction is May 30th. My mistake there are 4 up for auction

That's just the nature of the beast. Hi-Powers had have always had crappy triggers. It's not an MKIII-specific issue.
