Registration Frustration?!?!

Hey guys and gals,

So I recently purchased my first restricted firearm (Glock 17 Gen 4 btw). I sent in all my documents to the CFO and received my STATT, LTATT and the transfer of ownership from the store to me. Everything was really easy and went very smooth UNTIL today I get a letter in the mail saying the need proof of membership to a club before they can process the registration! They already have this and used it for the LTATT so why would they need it again?

When I saw the envelope with the RCMP stuff on it I was so excited because I thought it WAS the registration and I could finally go to the range... alas it seems like my wait will actually increase.

Any advice or similar experiences?
 
They just sent the request for proof of membership out in the mail before you sent it in.
If they have it on file you don't need to send it in again.
 
There was a thread on here a few days ago about the reg card. I called the CFO and asked if I could use my transfer slip as it has all the same info as the reg card. Her reply was "I can't tell you yes or no, but that it is being done and she has never heard of anyone getting charged doing this. So you can read into that what you want. I went to the range on Saturday... I got my reg card on Wednesday.
 
When did club membership become a requirement to own restricted? A PAL is your 'permission' to buy. If the CFO approved the transfer, have to issue the registration. No registration and you are in illegal possession of a restricted pistol. Get your MP and MPP involved. The CFO has made you a paper criminal.
 
the way I understand it is, if you are a target shooter they want a range membership, if your a collector they don't,
if they have it on file, why are they asking? ...could be a newbie ...or a knob...or both..lol
I recently had a transfer held up for a day because the seller didn't have my phone #..(the deal was made on the ee, and email).wtf? it was just easier to send it in....
on the plus side they are offering to email the transfer approval to you , so that saves you a week to ten days...itll come :)

Exactly. Stop giving in to extra rules these people make up.
 
Tough talk when they hold you hostage! Apparently they want proof you are a target shooter for acquisition to approve the transfer. Been down this road before, apparently my word as a Commissioned Officer isn't good enough for the CFOs either. If you let it lapse, you are OK until it is time to renew your RPal, or they decide to investigate your motives for ownership. This should all change soon.

The transfer was approved and the op has the pistol. (unless I read the first posting wrong). It is just more B$
 
I had a similar situation. I got an envelope in the mail saying they needed proof of range membership (it was scanned onto the ATT application) to complete the process. I was going to call them to provide direction of where to find said info but I already had my LTATT and the registration showed up a few days later. They must have sent the letter and then found what they needed a few hours later when actually looking at the application.
