I am looking to buy a tuned np 29, like the ones amrco used to sell. I have messaged them to see if they can still get some. I just thought this route would be easier than buying one here ( there are lots of them here ), and having to ship it out to BC. Does anyone know of any other gun shops anywheres, that would give you the option of buying a tuned one. Thanks I would buy 2 maybe. ;)

I don't recollect Gunnar ever peddling new NP29s, and I have dealt with him for quite a few years now.

I have to say, he did a bang up job tuning the one I sent to him.

I believe Gunnar has retired...However Clarence at bumblebee gunsmiths has taken over his work...

I thought Armco was selling new norincos tuned or just stock? Last year? A tune and a one year warranty. Kind of like they did for the gsg pistols, but I have been wrong before.

I do believe you are correct with that statement. I sent my 29 to Gunnar before he transferred his equipment to Clarence.

I didn't even realize anyone had them in stock.
But looking for a similar thread that I thought I had already posted in... :) I noticed this,

Looks like there's a new shipment landed?

I'd just buy one new and see how it shoots out of the box!

The main thing Norinco's can benefit from is a de-horning of all the sharp parts which is something Gunnar's tune did not address.
Even Gunnar admitted that the latest Norks didn't need much tuning out of the box before he stopped being a sponsor.

If you buy from someone like Marstar or Canada Ammo you can just swap it out if you get a lemon and keep the change if you get a winner.

The new ones have the slide serrations. Not my thing, but ya they make for a usable and cheap 9mm 1911, if that's what you are after.
There was nothing wrong with the 29 I parted with, just tooo many 9mm accumulating.

I'm holding out for a Ruger SR Commander in 9mm. Looks like it may be a long wait:(

I agree on the look of the newer models, The SAM's have the classic look and are better finished out of the box. Not completely without issues but no need for the de-horning!
