Any good Turkey hunting grounds?

Hi there,
I live in Hamilton On, tried 3 times to get my spring turkey without any luck, even I was able to get out in the fields as early as 5 AM.
Last time this past Saturday I heard a Tom gobble pretty close to me and as I was making my way in the forest, guess what, almost step on another hunter waiting for the same bird. Auch.
It didn't take long and I heard a shot. That was done pretty quick.
Anyway I spent the rest of the morning trying to locate another bird with no success.
It gets frustrating that they do not respond to any calls.
If you guys know any good hunting area I would appreciate your help.
I also know that nobody wants to give away their secret spot, but some of you had filed their tags already.

Not likely that someone will give you a spot... if you stepped on another hunter, you need to work on technique and slow down. Chasing gobblers is sure to be an exercise in frustration... I have taken gobblers playing "cat n' mouse" but there is so much that can go wrong... usually getting busted by a hen... better to set-up in a good spot (scout) and then call them to you. Once the hens are on the nest, the toms will be more inclined to come in... another week or so.

NPCA does have some crown land for turkey hunting.

You forgot to add in that during that 5% hunting time the increased likelihood of bumping into some A-hole who is trespassing ......

This was my third year hunting and finally had success. The first two not so much. I found if you go in at 5 am thats already too late. Id be set uo in the bush 3:45-4:30 the absolute latest. They wake up earlier before they come down and look around. Hopefully im close to their roost and sit very still and quiet before i started any calling. Between 5 guys we have 5 birds mixed with 3 toms and 2 jakes. That's our differnces this year is going out earlier. Then your killed tired the whole next day.
