I want a decent budget pistol for 7m paper... and I'm not good at all at pistol, so I want something reasonably accurate, but not match grade accurate for the sake of the budget.

Between 1377 and IZH-M46 (which is out of stock anyways), is there any other options which I should consider? Beeman p17 accurate enough?

Where would you get 1377 around Toronto?

Thanks

1377 takes a few pumps per shot, you won't need to pump the full 10 pumps for 7m shooting. It is nice to have the the option of variable power.

The Beeman P17 would be my choice, I love them. They can be problematic, but most of the horror stories you hear are when they were new. Any issues they have are simple to fix, usually o-rings and once fixed will last quite a while. I have had a few and only one really gave me any issues, but it was a simple fix.* I bought one a few years ago at Princess Auto for about $60 if I remember correctly. They take a bit of getting used to to ####, but simple once you get it figured out. One pump and it shoots around 400fps.

Im pulling 3/8" 10M supported groups with my 1377. But I got a aftermarket steel breech that supports the barrel better.

Then again mines far from stock anymore.

How's the trigger on it?

THis is what's holding me back from 1377 a bit. One review said there's some play in the way the barrel mounted. I don't really want a project pistol. I want it to work decent out of the box.

As a target pistol a Daisy 717 might be a better option.
Very interesting. Do you have one? how's the build quality/accuracy? Trigger?

I second the p17 cant be beat out of the box under 200.00(which is the price of a Weihrauch HW 40 PCA, that the P17 is a copy of) mine is an awesome shooter( makes my custom 2240 look like a chump), it has a great trigger, simple but effective sights.I've never had a problem after many tins of pellets(I wipe off the pump cylinder and aply 1 drop of pellgun oil every time I use it)

Princess Auto has the current incarnation of the 1322 for $100 if you want to go a bit larger than .177. Essentially the same gun as the 1377. I've had one for years and love it.

Now it's a tossup between p17 and 747

I read some reviews and 747 is supposed to have a better barrel than 717, but at 6x the price of p17

I do have a 717. It is a better target pistol than a 1377 if only because its a single pump action. The trigger is OK but the grip doesn't fit my hand real well. I also have an Izh 46 m so I'm a bit spoiled, great pistol but three times the cost of a 717.

I have both a 717 and a 747. The difference is the 747 has a Lothar Walther barrel. I'm no pistol ace, but I can't make out the difference between the two. Both shoot dime sized groups across my backyard when I take a rest and feed them quality pellets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either.

Wanna part with one you like less? :D
