Well, some units do “Open House” days when guests are invited to see the armory, some of the kit, etc. That photo could just be from one of those days, get a guy all kitted up in the gear to show people for oohs and aahs.

The interesting thing about standard maglites, is there is a community of flashlight hobbiests who mod them.
At one point, any aftermarket part you could think of for the maglite (that you'd actually want) you could get from these people.
I'm into that myself.
I've had maglites with digital controllers, programmable regulators, li-ion power plants, aluminum reflectors, turbo heads, even bigger turbo heads, bi pin bulb adapters, 100watt bulbs, and some of the highest output LED's available. Like AR style lego, just with a flashlight.
So yeah, if I put one of a gun, thing'd light up the whole battlefield.

How would one modify a maglight to give a small center spot for aiming purposes, with reasonable peripheral vision? For embassy storming and such.
