Can't decide which way to go here. I've now had the opportunity to look through a March Tactical 10x60 and NF Competition 15x55.
NF has lifetime warranty and slightly cheaper. New price is around $2900 + tax and shipping
March has 5 yr warranty, but over $3000 + tax and shipping.

Both have superb glass and click repeatability.
Both would work well for F-Class.
Both are light scopes to meet weight easily.

Is the March worth more or does the NF make more sense.

I'm not interested in Sightron or Leupold as I already own higher end Leupolds.
My Pierce awaits a scope.

I just had my NF competition out to the range today for the first time, was very very impressed. Moderate mirage all afternoon here today, shoot at the Sherwood Park Range, and you could still see 308 bullet strikes at 300 yards. Glass is a bit better then my Sightron 10-50 S3 for sure, and next weekend I'll be able to compare it to my S&B 12-50, but I think they'll be close.
Never looked thru the March, but if you read thru the scope comparison Jerry did on the longe distance scopes last week on here, I would agree with all he said there. He describes the March positives/negatives in great detail, and that should help you decide for your needs. I have the FCR reticle in mine and it's superb. Hard to believe you can leave it on 55x mag and shoot all day. Never turned it under 38-40 power once today past 200 yards.
On a bit of a budget, then go Sightron, it's excellent for its price. The NF is a good chunk cheaper then the S&B but may be even better, and definitely has better eye box and relief.
Hope that helps. I got my NF, in stock, from Peter, at Hirsch Precision, and he was fabulous to deal with, just like Jerry always is. Peter is the distributer for Sightron/NF and was a wealth of info before I ordered. Although no one beats Jerry for his enthusiasm and willingness to take his time out for potential customers and fellow shooters. (First time I ever bought a scope from Jerry, we chatted for over two hours about shooting at Tim Hortons!), so feel free to call him and pick his brain, if you are thinking possibly about the new Sightron S5. That'll be my next scope purchase after reading Jerrys review. Love the Sightron stuff.

Last weekend I looked at a Sightron III and NF Comp together at the same target. The NF was more clear at 400 meters when the mirage was on than the Sightron.
I could see bullets holes and mirage from both scopes, but the NF Comp was better to me and it did remind me of the March I looked through.
Now, maybe some guys want to see more mirage as Jerry refers to in his article about the Sightron, but I prefer a clearer image of the target than a dancing bullseye in a boil. I've had plenty of scopes which allowed me to see mirage and I want a change if nothing else.
My days of budgeting on scopes are over, so it looks like the NF wins for me at this point in time as I like the windage dials they have. I think they thought that out for F-Class.
You can always buy more expensive scopes, but diminishing returns begin to appear. Let's see what the next few years brings about in scope technology.

redrams9, thanks for the shout out... always fun to chat with like minded shooters.

The current NF comp is a well thought out scope for F class and the glass is very good. In time, I will be comparing the Sightron SV to the NF comp. I think I already know the answers but nice to see how they compare side by side.

The new SV focus system is really amazing to use and the glass, without mirage, is top tier. Like as I have said in my review, Sightrons show you more mirage and that translates to more distortion of the target image - not as much as the SIII10-50, but more then a S&B and march. I consider this a good thing... others, not so much.

Pick the scope that suits your shooting style.

For F class, the SV is a heavy scope. Add in the 34mm rings and things get portly. For Open, not really a big deal. For FTR, some compromises will be needed to make weight. But then I do not think Sightron was going after the F class market with the SV scopes. I think they are after the LR and ELR big boomer rifle shooter. Here this scope is going to be a gem and at a price point well under its peer scopes.

Time will tell.

Jerry

March has the edge in clarity according to my eyes, its worth it to some, and others cannot see it. It really depends on YOUR eyes. If the clarity is easily perceptible to you then its worth it to go with the March. Both are GREAT scopes, and the good thing is you can't pick the wrong one, one may be, and I emphasize 'may be' a bit better than the other.
