Scope problem

So I just recently purchased a used 6-18x50ao Bushnell XLT Trophy scope. I took my gun in to a local gun shop to buy rings, so they were going to mount and bore sight it for me.

Got it all mounted up, went to bore sight it, and the crosshairs wouldn't move when adjusted. The fellow at the store determined that the scope adjustments had been bottomed out on a previous firearm, then shot, therefore the scope is now no good.

Does anyone know if that is something that can be repaired? How about warranty? I'm not the original purchaser of the scope, so not too sure how that would work. I can get my money back for what I paid for it used, but I'm thinking maybe I should try to get it replaced under warranty and have a brand new scope for a fraction of what the new cost of it is.

Anyone have any tips/advice on dealing with Bushnell warranty? Thanks in advance!
 
I have had outstanding customer service provided by the Bushnell warranty centre over the years...repair or replace on the spot, no questions asked...but I lived within easy driving distance at the time. I have heard that those who must deal with them by mail often have loooong waiting periods getting their optics back. I guess it depends upon how good of a deal you got when you purchased the scope, and how long you are willing to wait. Now that I live cross country from them, I would probably just get a refund from the place of purchase if I had an issue.
 
Just for your info I too bought a bushnell and had troubles with it, I was going to cut my losses and toss it in the garbage but i decided to see what kind of warranty they had so i went online and filled out a form sent them a long rant, more whining than anything else and sent in my 10 bux for return shipping figuring at worst i am out another ten bucks well it has almost been a month to the day and went to mail a parcel and low and behold i have a parcel, it is a brand new replacement actually the next best as they no longer had my original but here it is in front of me I have nothing but good things to says about bushnells warranty service BRAVO!!!!!!!
