The plastic factory sight seems to get damaged easily in the holster shooting PPC. I would rather get new sights.
DS tactical is out of stock for at least 2 months

I did not like the way the yellow looked at first, it was abit of a eye sore. But then I realized my eye picked up the ugly yellow way better then the orange.

True if it was colored Tritium but the tritium is green on both. I am pretty sure fiber optic colors lifespans are the same? if am wrong please correct me.

The orange color is just paint. The green tritium insert sits in the center.

The orange and yellow are phosphorescent paints. They charge up in light and glow a little in the dark. The yellow does keep its charge slightly longer. They last about 10 minutes tops. The tritium lamps glow more IMO.

Look at the warranty on each of the sights, and the average lifespan for them as advertised.

Yellow/green 12 years, but Orange is just 5....

I just bought the yellow one on wanstalls. My holster was destroying my sights anyway, so I had to change those for metal. Night sights is a plus.

again, the trijicon HD sight has all green lamps, the orange colour is just molded plastic around the GREEN tritium lamp.... i have 12 sets of them sitting next to me.

That's ok, but the warranty clearly points out the terms and the orange is covered only for 5 years while yellow is good for 12. Did the factory decide to play a game here? I don't know, but it's probably good thing to be aware about this if you are considering buying one, especially since they both priced the same.

It's alright mate. You did your part, who cares if these people don't listen. The fact is you are right, and I know this. I have 3 sets of orange front HD's on my glocks. It's the orange and yellow TRITIUM rods that are warrantied for less time, not green tritium rods.
