Can't be because its a "cheap" rifle.

There are at least two quality replacements for the "cheap" Mosin Nagant.

SKS could benefit greatly from a really good trigger, sure most would agree.

Maybe the trigger design is not worth "fixing" and t would require a completely different approach.

Any thoughts?

The trigger can be easily fixed up to be very acceptable. The first thing I do when purchasing a new SKS is do a trigger job. There are several YouTube videos and websites that detail the process.

Mine are done too and they are considerably better, would recommend to anyone. And you're correct, its very acceptable.

Was just thinking it would be a good option if say Hubber Concepts or Timney made one. I'd try it out and betting quite a few others would as well.

I did smooth down the triggers of my grandsons chinese SKS, very easy and it bring them to very good level trigger... JP.

Despite the availability of aftermarket triggers for Mosins, I found the Mosin trigger job yields a much better trigger than I can do on an SKS. That said, the SKS does clean up nice. I'm amazed there isn't an aftermarket trigger for the SKS.

You know what they say, if you can convince 1% of the American population to give you a dollar you'd be a multi millionaire.

A lot of people also like to mod them in every way possible

Oh of course, no denying that. I'll bet that there are lots of those people out there, but there's lots that collect multiple years and arsenals that will never have the need for a drop in trigger upgrade.

Supply and cost vs. demand, it's not cheap to make something nowadays and not everyone wants to spend more money on a single part than the sks itself.
