I just aquired one of these rifles could someone tell me if they are any good, of or the approximate value of one in original military configuration? Thanks

Do you mean a Brazilian 1908 or maybe a 1935? Either one is a top quality rifle made with some of the highest fit and finish of any military arm made.

Value is all over the place. 350-1200+ depending on condition matching numbers, matching bayo, etc.

Pretty much impossible to give you an accurate assessment without pics.

Get the camera out and show us what you have then we can tell you about the gun. I have two of the 1908s and one 1935, 1922, M968, 1908/34 .30, and M954. Brazilian rifles are great guns like Jbmauser said they are well made guns some of the best ever sold on the surplus market.

I remember when SIR was selling them new in the grease in the 1970s, with bayonet and test target from the factory. Couldn't afford one then or now.

Is this the one from the auction today in Clyde Alberta? If it is here is what the description was:

Mauser (Brazil) M0.30M954 - Model 98K - 7 mm

Based on that, it sounds like a model 1954 and those are usually in 30-06. Maybe double check. The description sounds odd. MO .30M954 sounds like model 1954 and the .30 could be caliber.

mxzx those pics don't have much definition. Not your fault. The rifle doesn't appear to have a threaded muzzle. Some of those rifles do still have 7mm barrels so the description may be correct. Of course we won't know until the rifle is actually in the buyer's hands.

I have one in that matches the description on the tag in 7mm. Much better condition of course. It has resided in the safe for at least 15 years. If that rifle is in 7x57 and considering its exterior condition I would put a value on it of $300. That of course depends on bore condition etc.

The 54s in 30-06, again depending on condition, average $250-$400. Most people are put off by the threaded muzzles.
that rifle has a mismatched handguard but the rest of the stock looks better than many I have seen. It's missing the cleaning rod and it looks like most of the finish on the metal is gone as well. The 7mm short rifles usually have a polished finish rather than the matte finish usually found on the 30-06s.
