Just got through making a bunch of these old cadet dummy mags, built them from the old DND spec sheets but they seem ridiculous big. Any one ever made these things or had an original?

Thinking about making a copies from my no4 magazine. Any In the market for a dummy mag?

I have the spec sheet and some pics of these mags.

They're copies of the FNC1 magazine, which of course are a lot bigger than Enfield mags.

As long as you followed the specs, then they're probably right.

Here's a question- on the underside of the stock, where the takedown screw that holds the stock to the action, there is a smaller hole drilled. I've seen this on a few military stamped Model 82's- it was my thought that a dummy magazine could be held on via a wood screw, instead of replacing the takedown screw with the longer version. Either that, or the small hole would be for a locating dowel so the fake magazines don't twist.
I've given some thought of making a dummy mag too that looks like a No 4 magazine's bottom.

Hmmm...the spec sheet above doesn't show a second hole for a locating screw. I can personally agree that it would make it much more secure...but no sign of it in the specs.

If the rifle does have a second hole in the bottom nearby, you could have a pin or screw with no head sticking up such that it engages the hole. Thus the mag would be unlikely to twist during use.

I don't remember where but I read some time ago that that little hole is indeed for a locating pin. You think it would be on the specs though unless all rifles didn't have that hole.

just finished re-blueing and refinishing the stock of the cadet and made another dummy mag, thought it would look better with a smaller dummy mag
same angle as the FAL mag but closer in size to an enfield.
